alien five star collection and alien 3

Can anyone confirm this is coming in a five star
collection or is it just rumors?

Personally i would like to see alien 3 uncut with
all of fincher exericised, apparently from what i have read about 40mins were cut which fincher strongly objected to It would interesting to see what this adds to the story, also this most underrated of all the alien movie. Does anyone have have info about the cut footage(like what is was?)

Yes Fox is planning to release Alien Five Star during 2002, along with Speed: Five Star Edition and some other SEs.
Not the sequels though.

sorry, made a mistake, i missed out a word , i was meant to write excercised footage, i was saying i would like alien 3 to be reissued with the missing 40mins of footage and does anyone know about this cut scences and what they are?

Although this has been recently covered in another thread, Alien 3 basically had lots of additional character building and plotting chopped out of it - the main reason for this was, in the words of one of the actors in the Alien documentry a few weeks back "due to braindead teens in southern california not liking all the bald headed Brits" (or something like that).

There are Alien 3 trailers which contain glimpses of scenes that are not in the movie (the trailer on the Aliens Special Edition VHS is one of those trailers).
I believe the trading card series also features scenes that are not in the movie.

A rough print copy of the original 'David Fincher cut' sometimes turns up on Ebay, but fetches a high price.

As actor Charles Dance said in that documentry "we made a good movie, but the movie they released was......ok"

Fincher has publicly stated that he really doesn't want to re-do Alien 3 and Fox have said no also.

I’ve seen the longer cut and just like the shorter version, it too sucks except it sucks longer and harder which would be good if we were talking about something else.

Surely if the longer cut was far better, then Fincher would be up for getting it re-released as Alien 3 got him a lot of bad press?
