View Full Version : Warfdale DVD M5 ??
Any comments about this particular player please. Basically is it any good as a multi region player, and any other general comments.
Thanks.
I've now had 3 players in 20 a days and they all had faults. i can'nt recommend one myself, i just think it takes a while to get one that works properly.
Early players (there's still a few out there, so watch out people) were notoriously poor.
The newer players have a much better DVD drive and are running fine and dandy - check out ones built in 3/2001 or 4/2001.
As a guide, the serial number (which is printed on the carton) should start no earlier than 127xxxx. Ignore the 122xxxx one's like the plague, as it seems the above poster must have got hit by these bad boys three times - bad luck, mate :(
Area 450 (http://www.area450.com) may be useful, particularly The Forum, which has an M5 owners board - vast, vast, vast majority of owners of these later players are well happy.
Clayts, you kindly offer me some advice on this player a few weeks back and i checke every player to make sure it had serial '127xxxx' omwards ( had 2 128xxxx0 and they all had problems, it might have just been very bad luck, heres what was wrong with them
1) Had a very nosie drive that made a vry high pitch noise when spinning DVDs and skipped on 'The Godfather' so had to go back.
2) This one was fine for 2 days, was really pleased then died! Was playing a VCD and it just crashed, screen went all fuzzy and display was all messed up on the player and drive did'nt work.
3) This one was very very noisey and did'nt output any sound through the center speaker.
I think i must just had had some very very bad luck with them as the 2ed player was fine till it died.
Just thought i'd offer my option that if they work there great for the money. Rizel
