I have a built in dts decoder on my dvd player (Philips DVD957). A friend of mine is giving me a Kenwood amp which is pro-logic, but has six channel inputs. Am I right in thinking that if I connect my player to this amp via these six inputs (that match those on the back of my player) with interconnects, I will be able to listen to dts sound? Or am I just a moron? (if I am a moron, please let me down gently!)
Thanks in advance.
You are not a moron :D It should work fine.

Cheers!
That's one in the eye for my so-called 'home cinema expert' mate! He said it would have to be a digital amp to output dts regardles of my players built in decoder. He said that was the case for his player as well and he has a Pioneer 717.
This could turn out to be the cheapest set up I have ever had if I can find some cheap speakers.
At the moment my outlay has been:
Philips DVD957- Free (internet competition prize)
Kenwood amp-Free (generous donation from another friend)
Can anyone recommend a cheap set of speakers?
I'm using the Eltax Stargate X.1 speaker package available from QED (http://www.qed-uk.com/cgi-bin/q?basket=3efc40053b78092c&b-grp=216&b-code=stargates&v-bar=9) for a mere £109.30. See This thread (http://www.thedvdforums.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=26766) for some more opinions.
