I understand that the German release of the Christopher Lee film Dracula Prince of Darkness is the best one to buy- it is anamorphic and has many if not all the extras from the Region 1. However I cannot find out if the German subtitles are removable or not. Does anyone who has this DVD know if they are removable?

With EMS releases they tend to be half FORCED, half not. It's Concorde releases that are a pain for FORCED subs.

Sorry I couldn't be of anymore assistance.
You can look at these reviews though:
http://www.dvd-austria.org/_fset_redirect.html?page=http://www.dvd-austria.org/dvd-reviews/blut-fuer-dracula.htm (doesn't say)
http://www.dvd-inside.de/scripts/reviews/Review.php?ID=1530

If you scroll down on the second review it lists the extras and a few have an asterix next to them. It says these extras are in English with optional German subs, which would make me hazard a guess that the film would be the same.

Thanks for that.
It is a difficult one:much as I prefer to watch a DVD in 16:9 enhancement,I wouldn't want to do so at the expense of having to have subtitles forced onto the screen!
