According to DVDStreet, for one, Monday's coming release of this film in the Hammer Classics series from Warner UK is 2.35:1 but non-anamorphic. You've got to wonder...
...unless someone happens to know that this particular title would truly look crap as an anamorphic transfer?? Or that DVDStreet have got it wrong? It's a great price, so please, please...
Isn't Prince of Darkness a 2:40 print which is going to look bad in non-anamorphic form!

This title appears to be the Anchor Bay US edition just licenced to Warner UK and released as it was. The extras are the same so the transfer should be as well. I have seen this version and didn't think it too bad for a non-anamorphic transfer. I doubt it will be a huge seller so it probably wasn't worth them remastering an an already existing print of a minority film. Saying that though, I have it on order too.....!
