View Full Version : MTV Mash
First post in this forum :)
Not sure if MTV UK are doing the same as MTV Germany, but they're doing a mix of 2 songs in a video which is being executed very well IMHO.
e.g.
Stone Roses/ Moloko
Blink 182/Nelly
Beastie Boys/(Don't know the name of the group)
Are these mixes released on CD? I think it sounds great. Much like what DJ's are doing in clubs. I think there is some "bootleg" branding being done on the show as well. Any info appreciated.

Hi dorgan
yes, MTV UK are showing MTV Mash too - most of the people commisioned to do the mixes for the show are from the UK.
The beastie boys track you mention is probably
ultra396 - intergalactic friends (beastie boys v dandy warhols)
unfortunately MTV own the rights to these mixes and so therefore the creators of the tracks are unable to host mp3's of them on their own sites...
I've been meaning to post on here regarding Bootleg mixes going "legit" actually... A couple of the best leggers have just released officially approved/authorised records on 12" vinyl
Go Home Productions have one of the most well known bootleg mixes from last year "Ray of Gob" coming out on the "pistol whipped" ep - featuring 5 bootlegs that mix various artists such as Cher, Madonna and Electric six with sex pistols tunes
HMV have it available to order here:
http://www1.hmv.co.uk/hmvweb/displayProductDetails.do?ctx=1121;2;-1;-1&sku=166995
and also, IDC has his release: IDC boots the bullys
3 track 12 inch record released on March 8th
Fully distributed and available from both high street chains and independent record shops
Featuring 3 exclusive mixes by IDC
Tracklisting :
IDC vs the Audio Blurries
Ego Problem
I Go to Step It Up
Artifax Recordings catalogue number RTX001
(Mashups of the Audio Bullys with Blur, Mike Skinner & Stereo MCs - as heard on the MTV Motomash world club tour 2004)
you can find most of the artists involved in MTV MASH on the GYBO forum.
hope this info is of use
