Just thought I might share my work with other potentially unhappy owners of the Crow 2 disc set. While the dvd's are really great and most likely the best set on the planet at the moment, the cover was really horribly bad. I spend a few hours and made myself a replacement...

In case someone here wants to replace their cover too, a printable version can be downloaded here (3.5 mb pdf) (http://www.myprivateparts.net/download/the%20crow%20-%20uk.pdf)
All you need for printing is Acrobat Reader (http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html) , wich is available for free and very easy to use.
Cheers

Nice work :thumbs:
You should email it off to EIV to give them an example of how covers should be done :D
very nice m8, maybe when I get round to watching the film I might buy it- when i do I WILL be replacing the cover cos the current one has to be one of the worst ive ever seen
nice work, but in the preview image you have there at least you have put demis not demise in the text.
yea aside from that spelling error, its a class cover. The current Crow cover is absolutely appalling, and the initial release was terrible too (take a look at how bad the text is on the back of it, really soft and obviously scanned in).
What did they use to create it? MS Paint?

does it require a password or is it my dodgy linux pdf reader?

Couple of other typos: O'Bar and strictky (sorry :D )
Otherwise that's pretty cool, might try and print it out because, as you say, the EIV cover is terrible even by their standards (and that's saying something). :thumbs:
I have a pretty good photo printer but do you guy's suggest as good paper to print it on?? Isn't photo paper too thick?

yea I am interested in what would be the ideal paper to print the cover on. I also have loads of photo paper but that doesnt look right.
EDIT - also isn't it meant to be 'Disc' not 'Disk'? Just checked my Freddy Vs Jason and Se7en covers and they both say '2 Disc set'
I also made a replacement cover for The Crow a while back. It's made from bits at www.dvdcoverart.com, but made to look like the original movie poster.

ooo thats a nice replacement cover sebastian. It really does amaze me that EIV continue to produce such awful covers, does anybody there actually take a look at it before they print them or what?
EIV are a very very strange company.

Thanx :D And yes EIV is a very strange company. They manage to make really slick and good looking dvd menus, and deliver great quality when it comes to the dvds itself, but they ruining their own eforts with thoose horrendous artworks their slapping on the dvds. I know quite a lot of people who didn't buy the dvds because they looked liek they were made for the bargain bin.
In case anybody wants that Underworld custom too. You can download it here! (2.9 mb pdf) (http://www.myprivateparts.net/download/underworld%20-%20uk.pdf)

Is it possible to use the new-style BBFC logos and not the old ones? And add a symbol on the front and on the spine?
Sebastian - your Crow cover is superb, save for the 'Disk' at the top - could it be Disc? And also, as well as the BBFC points above, the DVD symbol looks a little distorted. May be just the small preview, mind.

Still a couple of spelling errors:
Disk = disc
Watchfull = watchful

Sorry don't have the new BBFC logos. Unless you can point me out to place where I can find them in .eps format I wont be able to add them. As for the typos, I will go back and fix them. Should have the fixed versions online in a few...
But could you explain a german dude why it has to be disc and not disk? my dictionary lists them both as correct :thinking:

Floppy disks and hard-disks are spelt with a K. But those round shiny things that have music or movies on them are spelt with a C.
I guess ever since Philips (or whoever) came up with the "Compact Disc" logo in the early 80's, that has been the spelling of discs. Look at every single instance of CDs and DVDs being called "discs". It's always "disc".

Still haven't fixed "disk" on the Crow front cover though... :p

Thanx Rik, but I would need them as .eps files or any other vector based format, rather then small jpgs :)
theres one thing missing from the custom cover and thats big massive nasty quotes all over it.
Can anyone think of any EIV style stupid quotes for it?
"Its like Beetlejuice meets the Terminator"
or
"A rip-roaring, ghoulish action-adventure"
;)
Link not working anymore, was hoping to print it off as I've picked up the Crow finally but the cover causes me to be violently sick every time I look at it. Would be greatly appreciated! :thumbs:
