Anyone managed to get a copy yet?
Due out 22nd March, info here. (http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0001E5SRK/qid=1079721641/sr=2-1/ref=sr_2_11_1/026-6936498-5894813) I only really got into him when I was recommended Master And Everyone which changed my life.
Downloaded "Master..." last year and went and bought it the next day because I loved it so...
...I think I'll probably pick this up next week. What else from his back catalogue is recommended ? "I See A Darkness" was listed as his best in a recent review.
I'll await the CD Times review :D

I prefer "Ease Down The Road" to "Master and Everyone" - it's a bit more uptempo with a bit more band.
Only a bit, mind.;)
No sign of his new one at CD Wow but Play have it for £9.99.

I See a Darkness is his best without a doubt.
Barney, agreed, I See A Darkness is one of the best records of the 90's IMO,
The new record is truely beutiful however, and breathes amazing new life into the already brilliant songs.

Another new Billy album is out next Monday - "The Letting Go". Recorded in Rekjavik by an Icelandic string quartet !! Chapest I've seen it is £8.99 at HMV but there is also a 2 disc version (with a 13 track 2nd disc) at 101CD for £12.99.
Anyone know anything about the 2nd disc ??

It's brilliant, full band versions of stuff like Pushkin, Bluegrassy version of I send my love to you, very worth having.

Anyone got a two disc version yet? 101CD let me down and I don't think powerplay direct are going to be able to fulfil my order either.
Sadly, prices are rising up on eBay for them!

Or the indirect route was via Johnny Cash - Solitary Man (I think) which has a cover of I see a darkness with Mr. O doing backing vocals - even more starke version, but very good

Adge, I've just had my Powerplay order cancelled - did you find anywhere with stock ? I may end up getting it from Ebay as I have some funds in my Paypal.

I'm off to LA and SF next week so I'll be looking for it there. Amoeba Records in SF might have it.

Maybe worth getting a few copies... ;)
A totally unique voice and sound. I'm struggling to think of anyone to compare to Will Oldham. Some of his songs sound like he's had one big night out to many while others are beautiful creations cranked out by a pure genius. Looking forward to hearing this new album.

Virgin Megastores still have the 2 discer to order for £9.99. I doubt they will get any but it's worth a try.

Was it pricey?
£30!! Worth it though, some 5 star tracks on the bonus disc, main album up there with his best work too.
New album came out yesterday - his 20th (I think) - http://music.thedigitalfix.co.uk/content.php?contentid=9656

Got it, but bizarrely can't get past track 1.... It sounds so incredibly bland....
Didn't really enjoy Beware either, but have loved him since I discovered Master & Everyone. Lie Down in the Light and the Funtown download/vinyl live album have been my most recent favourites.
