I would have said he's just a tad effeminate but perhaps I'm a bit behind the times.

Not a chance. Too young. Wouldn't give it another moment's thought...

What was it Connery said about subsequent Bonds? "Not quite hard enough, not quite dirty enough..."

If he's the new Bond, then I'm the new Q...

So many films, so little time...

hes far too pretty to ever be james bond although, after the last effort, it wouldnt surprise me at all. perhaps we'll see the new sharing caring bond on a mission to rescue some puppies from a market stall in china :|

:searchme: If this is true it could well be the end of Bond!

He's too young and not macho enough.

There's something not quite right about that name.

Connery - good bond name
Dalton- good bond name
Brosnan - could even BE a bond name
Lazenby - good bond name
Moore- ok (though Roger not great)

Bloom:gag:

Orlando :gag: :gag:

Orlanda Bloom is James Bond in

Orlando Bloom - They are having a laugh aren't they, and am I the only one that is worried that they want an actor in place that can attract a younger audience.

Maybe he's gonna be James Bond Jr!! :cuckoo:

I doubt he'd take the role. He's a rising star and can do anything he wants. Bond isn't exactly the most stimulating role for an actor. Loads of Big names were offered before bargain basement Brosnan signed up.

Noooooooooooooo!

we all know brosnan will end up doing another two or three (hes got to play it cagey for now hasnt he)

By then i think Christian Bale will end up doing it - he is by far the best candidate AND wants to do it (pending his Batman commitments of course - and yes i do believe it is possible for him to play both roles)

as for orland - no way! (its like all other bond rumours - nothing is true until OFFICIAL)

I thought Clive Owen was being widely touted as the new Bond.

I'd agree with Bale doing it - i can't imagine any other "young" actor who could handle the role as well.

bloom - he's so thin he'd break in the wind.

My girlfriend worked with Orlando on the Rings films and I said "you would probably be the envy of most girls in the UK, they all adore him". She replied - "That's coz they havent spoken to him". I've heard stories and he really does sound like a prat.

Bale is tied to at least 2 Batman movies possible more.

IIRC arnt the Bond producers fussy over what other roles ''Bond'' takes and Batman is certainly a high profile role.

Bale would be great in the role but I would be suprised if he got it

Would LOVE to see Bale be Bond. Would be really good in a Dalton sort of way i expect.

Liv Tyler --nooooo! She has even worse things to say about her ! Liv Tyler is soo empty-headed its untrue.

Would love to see Clive Owen taking over the role in a Dalton gritty style Bond. He would be the perfect Bond, a bit of a cold hearted ******* but smooth with it. After seeing Croupier and the BMW films, he's the only Bond for me man. Its about time Bond got back to its roots, where he actually spies on people. The franchise is turning into another run of the mill action film, the last film was an abominaton.

Orlando Bloom would suck!!! :|

What about Jeremy Edwards for bond?

As I said here (http://www.thedvdforums.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&postid=3803621#post3803621) yesterday, I think Jason Isaacs should be the next Bond.

There are much better alternatives than Bloom.

Too cleancut pretty boy by far - Bond's got to have a rugged, more lived-in actor playing the role.

Clive Owen or Christian Bale. I can't decide which one of those I'd rather see as Bond - either would be great.

QUOTE FROM THE www.digitalspy article :

"Film producers are apparently "desperate" to sign up the 27-year-old as a replacement for Pierce Brosnan, who retires from the role after the next movie"

So it look like Brosnan is doing at least one more then.

No way!!!

The new Bond has to be either:

The Indian looking actor Clive whatshisname
Or Darcy from Neighbours

Although not the best Bond, Roger Moore is the most appropriate name for the actor.

Roger Moore --> Roger More. It's what he does!!! :norty:

It could be a very sutble Porn star name! :D

I'd go with Clive Owen, but then I think maybe Jack Davenport would fit the bill.

What about that guy who plays Jesus in "The Passion"?

What's his name?

He'd make a great bond.

Absolute crapola.

But we've been here time and again with all of the other rumours that have circulated - even just after Brosnan took over - regards who will be the "next Bond". Its always whoever is flavour of the month - and if they are British - then all the better. Hell even Corey Feldman was probably touted as "the new Bond" in the 80's ;)

Its interesting to note that none of the previous Bonds had prolific film careers before the suit was donned. Certainly plenty of experience TV, theatre and the like. But a BIG name brings too much expectation to the role and it becomes about the actor rather than the franchise.

And whilst a Broccoli still holds the reigns (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0110483/) - that ain't ever go happen...

No need to worry. Pierce Brosnan will make another one.

When I read the first reports of this, I thought to myself "That's an MGM executive getting creative again". Why can't these dead-heads concentrate on running the business and leave the actual filmmaking side to the talent?
