I have the Phillips OD Box. It outputs RGB fine, but most definately does not pass it thru from the second scart.

I'm thinking of upgrading my Samsung 709 to either a Pioneer 444 or 545.

I currently use the OD Box to route RF through the house. I connect the Sammy's scart to the Secondary Scart Input of the OD Box. When The Sammy is switched on, the OD Box overrides the selected channel with the DVD signal.

I connect the S-Video mini-din of the Sammy to Scart 2 of my TV and use S-Video.

I would hope that the Pioneer 444 could be configured exactly as the Sammy. (i.e. signal emerges from SCART & S-Video min DIN at the same time)

However, if I opted for the Pioneer 545, which *does* pass through RGB, I could daisychain the OD box through the 545 to the TV and get RGB all the way.

However, would this cause the OD Box to switch to the DVD signal and route it through the house?

I hope I've explained this well enough!

If you could change your phillips od box for the pace 735 then you could pass the 444's rgb output through that.

The Pace box is the only one that can pass RGB, it must be switched on to do it but hey who switches a digibox off. Also it must be the 735 model (no smartcard flap) the original Pace 730 won't do it.

If you go the 545 route then to answer your question -
However, would this cause the OD Box to switch to the DVD signal and route it through the house? - Nope RF would not be affected.
