I want to see more of Oliver Platt, he is a fine actor - particually in the comedy genre, certainly up there with the grand masters - a bit like a larger Chevy Chase.
Ultimate respect to those who can name this quote from an Oliver Platt film.....
"I poke you, I poke you, I poke you...."

"I poke you, I poke you, I poke you...."
Sounds like a line from a badly dubbed European pr0n movie.

The Imposters?
Besides Bridget Fonda;) he was the best thing in Lake Placid. Although he was a little annoying in Dr Doolittle:(

I wholly agree, Oliver Platt turns every scene he is in, be it good or not, into something you can't stop watching. I loved him in every movie, haven't seen Dolittle though, but those movies suck and Murphy should get a kick up his ass and get back to doing something decent, I mean, 2 cute talkin animals and 2 farty jokes professor movies, ugh.
Oh, and did I say, I don't like APPRIA40WR. :o
Lake Placid was bad but the cast was excellent, not only Bridget Fonda and Bill Pullman, but Platt was so amusing as that rich arrogant realistic eccentric scientist, with his gadgets and tents and music and parties hehe, I love him. That's a guy who makes "overweightness" look cool
He was very good in the West Wing this week... He was amazing!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE THE WEST WING!:D

He was great in The West Wing (The bit with the hammer. Excellent!) A welcome addition to a fantastic cast.
Platt was good in Bulworth too (available on dvd?). A movie I really liked, though not many others seemed to agree.

I thought that he was good in Funny Bones(?), the film with Lee Evans. Although I was worried by the possibility of Jerry Lewis actually having any offspring.

Yes you have already said it.
What that has to do with me not liking Platt I've no idea.

Ultimate respect to the lovely miss Rachel_M, it was from the Imposters, if no one has seen it you really should, its a delightful little film written and directed by Stanley Tucci - who I also want to see in more films.

The Imposters sort of slipped past me... I don't know how, because Big Night (Tucci's previous movie) was just so great. Me and the lovely 13th Aunt ( ;) ) watched it a couple of weeks ago and it was so much fun. It looks and feels like they had the best time making it - and that cast! Blimey!
Platt was exceptional in The West Wing - but pretty much everything in The West Wing is exceptional... I hope we're going to see a lot more of him in the show - it looks like they're setting him up for a short-term recurring role. :D
And I thought Lake Placid was pretty good - especially Brendan Gleeson.

I was very disappointed in The Imposters . I love Tucci, I really like Platt, and I adored Big Night , so I was hoping to enjoy The Imposters despite it not getting good reviews.
But, oh dear, except for a few moments here and there, it really didn't work for me. As an attempt at a 1930s screwball comedy it really felt leaden and even a little embarrassing at times.

Yeah, I liked that movie a lot too, he was very funny, here is one of this better quotes:
"I'm concerned that you stood up in front of three hundred people in a black church and told them that they were not a factor and never would be as long as we remain in the pocket of the insurance lobby! I'm concerned that you went to a fundraiser in Beverly Hills and told various leaders of the entertainment industry that they make a lousy product, and since many of them also happen to be Jewish, you decided the PRUDENT thing to do would be to MOCK their Jewish paranoia! I'm concerned that we are in an after-hours club in Compton on the eve of the most important event of the campaign swing, where God knows how much illegal activity is taking place and YOU are SMOKING MARIJUANA! Now, Senator -- I work for you. You call the shots. But I will be able to do my job so much better if you will just simply tell me ... what is this new strategy? Just tell me a little bit!"
:D
It is available on DVD:
