You could argue that it's not a futuristic film, but Dark City gets my vote for favourite sci-fi full stop.

Hmm i'd say....

A Clockwork Orange
2001
Bladerunner
Alien

Not especially fond of sci-fi though, but those four are only sci-fi/futuristic by technicality :) :p

Back to the Future II
Blade Runner
Strange Days
Escape from NY/LA
Cyborg 2
Circuitry Man I/II
Demolition Man (very satiric, well defined, ludicrous and funny futuristic world, whatever you may say about the film as a whole, can't deny that! "San Angeles" Hehe)
Waterworld & The Postman make me cry, I love them! Sue ME!
I also of course agree with A.I., Fifth Element, and Mad Max, Robocop trilogies

P.S. Tripod.co.uk is down and all our sig images are screwed!

Blade Runner
Robocop
Total Recall
The Terminator films
Starship Troopers
The Fifth Element
The Alien Legacy
Back to the future pt. 2
Dark City
Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within - Cool animation...
Demolition Man
2001: A Space Odyssey
Star Trek II: The Wrath of Kahn ("Revenge is a dish best served cold")

and I would say Star Wars only that is set:A long, long time ago... Not in the future.
The same with The Matrix which is set in the present... and so is Blade... and Cube... and Highlander...
