what is the best Night Of The Living Dead disc to get. I've heard the 'image'one with THX was the best, but it seems to be the only version of the film that will cost me 17 quid. On play247, r2, there are 4 different discs, but one of them is the 30'th edition, which i have heard is pretty dire, and one is the 90's remake.leavs 2 discs and i was wondering if n e one knew what the transfers were like.

The best version, nay the only version to get is the 'Elite' version ( dodgy painting of a girl zombie with Green text over the top on the cover. ) It's the one with the THX remasterd picture, trailers, 2 commentry's by George A Romero and friends and a spoof film called Night of the living bread!
Avoid the others with a ten foot severd arm.

Seconded, with knobs on - the Elite disc is comfortably the most expensive version, but you get what you pay for. It's actually even better than Arch makes it sound, as it was transferred directly from the original negative and approved by George A Romero - and although it dates from 1997, it's still got one of the best black-and-white pictures I've ever seen on a DVD.
The other DVD versions are cheapo transfers from second-rate prints - you'll save money, but you'll hate yourself if you ever find out what you were missing! Oh, and avoid the so-called "30th Anniversary Edition" like the plague: it's a complete travesty of the film that's been disowned by just about everyone not directly involved with it - it claims to present the original version, but it's lying, as the music score has been altered.
