Hi guys,

We just got one of these and it seems to be exhibiting a slight glitch, which I'd like to know if anyone can offer advice on before complaing to the shop. The first time the set is switched on after being off for a while, most of the buttons on the remote refuse to function. The only ones that work (ON/OFF, Vol +/- and Prog +/-) seem to be the ones which are also available on the unit itself. All the advanced functions (like changing screen mode or using the menu) are ignored. The TV does blink in response to presses, but doesn't otherwise respond. This can be overcome simply by switching the machine off (from the remote) and back on again a few seconds later - at which point everything then works fine, but obviously this is a hassle and also a little worrying. Does this sound like a fault or just something setup wrong?

Cheers,

Dave.

I've had one of these sets for a few weeks now and haven't experienced anything like that. Sounds like a definite fault on your set :(

The only thing that springs to mind is that maybe the VCR/TV switch on the side of the remote has got stuck in, but that wouldn't explain the fact that turning it on/off solves the problem.

Duff batteries? Unlikely though...

Yeah, I'm gonna try changing them, but like you say, it does seem unlikely. Oh well...
