I need a new TV and want a flatcreen and have seem this for a good price. Can anyone recommend it or has it got loads of bad points? Have seen it for around 500 quid delivered but aslo have seen this modle:

28WFT1EK

Looks exatly the same as the modle i listed but has less features and is 100 quid more! I'am confused! If anyone can give more some advice that would be great, cheers, Rizel

JVC AV28WFT1EKS true flat screen widescreen nicam TV. Superb, probably the best TV in it's category (my mate has one and is very very pleased). £489.99 delivered at www.storeplus.co.uk . Great price (cheapest I've seen it elsewhere is £544 at www.qed-uk.com ) . But here's the interesting bit. Storeplus allow you to sign-up for your own FREE store (my wife has recently done this!) and then you qualify for commission on any products you order/sell - up to 75% of the profit margin of the product. I reckon this TV would work out at as lttle as £420 bought this way. Check out it's price at Comet and Argos, and you will see that is an indecently cheap price.

Think I've just realised why you are confused! It would appear currys have the FR version on extra special offer for £499...£180 less than the store price! BUT they are selling the FT version (not virtual dolby, just nicam but essentially the same TV) for their 'normal' price of £585! I would say the FR price at currys is unbeatable at the mo (not sure what P&P charges are, tho') but personally I would be more inclined to pay £80+ less for the FT version (I'm not generally keen on 'virtual dolby', to be honest). Whichever version you get, it's a great TV.

Thanks TPF, i think i'll go with the Currys one at 499.99, i presure you'll be able to turn off the Virtual Dolby Sound? as i intend to run it through a Amp anyways, thanks for your replies though. Rizel

Anyone? Does it do RBG or PAL60 for my R1 DVDs?

Yes it is RGB and it handles PAL 60 as I had my Samsung 709 running through it until a few weeks ago when I changed my player.

We just got the AV28WFR1 from empiredirect (518 with next day delivery - and it turned up bang on 9am) a few days ago, wanting to upgrade our regular telly with something Flat, and it's a great telly as far as I can tell... we're now on the hunt for a cheapy-ish dvd player to go with it (region free etc).

Flat with loads of inputs, sound is brilliant out of the box. We're very pleased! Who needs new staircarperts anyway?!
