View Full Version : Bryan leaves Westlife!!
I love it when a teenybop band member leaves to pursue greater riches. I mean, look at the guy who walked out of S Club 7, he's everywhere now. Actually, at least he's not being paid £250/week by $imon Fuller anymore. Good on him.

Im glad i always hated Brian from Westlife, i think he comes across as being arrogant, and if Westlife dont split after this theyll probably be better!!!
If they do split up its just time to say hello to the next boy band wholl try to take there place!!

I wonder if the westlife ticket sellers on ebay will be worried about getting compensation claims now....

ah well, the end of an era  he was always the big one in westlife, though slimmed down a bit.
him and kerry did Richard and Judy a while ago when the 2some were on holiday, they were pretty good, so i predict some more of this sort of thing, he seems to be a real family man, can;t see him having a solo career, thats more that lead singer chap.
Catherine, i thought you were older than 12! :D

She likes Peter Andre too, you know. ;)
If the band splits, you could have 5 crap solo singles instead of one crap group single. Best they stay together. :D

Lol. slightly, they have gone downhill, there last song was lame, i liked earlier stuff, and they were easy on the eye when watching top of the pops (well apart from the ugly tall one and the one who i can;t even remeber who is not the lead singer, kieran or Bryan)
So whose the next boy band that will be as popular? D-side? not those 8-10 young lads blazing squad, far too many and no idea who is who

i doubt any of them will have solo careers bar 1. look at take taht or even boyzone, you have ronan who has done well, and the chap in corination street, and thats it. TT you have robbie, and then gary is a good songwriter, and mark is an also ran, but not done tooo bad.

Crikey me, Catherine, I wouldn't have put you down as a boy band hugger! I find it slightly arousing...in an dirty old man sort of way. And don't ask me to explain why, cos I really don't know...

PS Would the fans be in their rights to ask the promoters for 20% discount on their tickets now? I think some Bee Gees fans did....

Whaddayamean ??? They equalled The Beatles number ones with their first singles didn't they (or did WL even beat them ? *gasp*) so they must be good, surely ?
Except they're not :)

They are all boy bands. its all manufactured, all the stuff in the charts, its all record company put together and marketed. so you might as well applaud the more pleasant and successful brands.
Oh, i am a cynic. But if it makes young girls happy, in a way that the beatles made young girls happy in the 60s, fair play, Were they not the first boy band when they started? clean cut boys for the good girls, and the bad girls liked "rolling stones". Same here, now you have westlife vs blazing sqaud, just as before it was Take that vs East17.

To illustrate that any form of music is acceptable on an internet site rather than those deemed acceptable by the more "knowledgeable" members ;)
We've come to something when Westlife and Blazing Squad are being compared to The Beatles and The Rolling Stones in the Music Forums.
The sun is shining, Bryan leaves, the birds are singing.
What a boooooooootiful day. Happy Tuesday everyone

Perhaps we need a sub forum? music that isn;t hip breakingly trendy, but seems to sell more than the trendy stuff. perhaps called POP for short?

Although I don't think you can bring The Beatles or The Rolling Stones into this I think you do have a point - there have been some great singles from manufactured boy bands, i.e. Take That, The Monkees etc.
Unfortunately, when the "talent" behind a band is Ronan "weasel-faced, goat-voiced" Keating then you know you're dealing with poo of the highest order.

Doen;t ronan manange west life? So the natural progression is for the next big band to be Someone in Westlife managing 5 lads from ireland.
Ronan has quite a good voice, quite like his "when you say nothing at all". He has a bryan adams long live quality.

He used to, before his almighty falling out with Louie Walsh (sp?). He was never a real hands on manager (more a figurehead), though, but it was a very clever marketing idea by Walsh to 'smooth' the way for the transition of the pre-pubescent screamers from Boyzone fans to Westlife fans...

ah right, see you follow this teen stuff more than me.
Simon from blue is doing a similar thing with the new group vs.
So are boy/girl bands over? We still have Louies Girls Allowed, and whatever comes out of the next pop stars series.

I thought Blazing Squad were a gang of 15 yr old neds who hang around on street corners spitting, smoking illegal substances and not getting jobs so they don't need to pay money to the lady neds they got knocked up.
You mean, they make music too?

No, but one of the members was in her.
Good. If that means there's more of a chance of a Westlife split I'm all for it! I really can't stand there music, drives me crazy. They're one of those bands that leave me having to change the Radio station if they come on.
Oh...and also (this is obviously just a rumour) 'someone' I know works in a job involved with the music industry and said one of the guys from Westlife is secretly Gay. Don't ask me which one, I don't have a clue.

well i'm not crying, but whats wrong with pretty boys singing nice songs? It appeals to its fans, and makes them happy.
I quite like some westlife songs, as i quite like some Boyzone songs and take that ones. Or should we only admit to liking the Black Eyed Peas? Or N.E.R.D.
Even blazing sqaud, their new song is quite catchty.
Watching something like CDuk or TOTp shows what a huge range of music there is out there, and just becaused its manufactured, does not mean some of it isn;t okay

I agree. At least Take That and even Boyzone had a bit of spark about them and the songs were reasonably memorable. The only Westlife song I can name (other than cover versions) is that Flying Without Wings one. Westlife are/were bland bland bland.

Westlife splitting was a natural, they;ve had their 5 years,it was such a fix when their song (Mandy???) got song of the year, that should have been Beyonce. But you get 500000 voting girlies and thats what happens.

As a new entrant to this Forum, I'd genuinely like to know what sort of music you like, Johnny? So far all I've seen you do is slag other people's choices. Do you think i'll have heard of any of the artists/bands?? BTW, I'm 45 and think Norah Jones is the epitome of cool and talented. Be gentle with me....

blazing sqaud are ok because they have that cute blonde bit of stuff who i so would have fancied if i was 16 (and not now i'm a little older than that of course :suspect: ). westlife, however, can bite me.
