Is it gunna be a Box set then do we know.... I hope so, and hope it has lots of EXTRA's. Knowing my luck it will have no extra's and will be 4:3

Still seathing about FULL METAL JACKET being 4:3http://www.plauder-smilies.de/******.gif

Full Metal Jacket was filmed in 4:3, so to show it in widescreen, they would have to crop the top and bottom of the picture.

I first heard rumours when looking around French websites... I LOVE Beverly Hills Cop!

IMO:

BHC2 is the best
BHC is good in a different way
BHC3 is the worst but it still kicks ass

Da-de-dadadaduhda
da-de-dadadaduhda
duhda-DA!-duhduhhduhdaduh

repeat!:D :D :D

I know it isn't from the BHC Trilogy but this fits well:
"You're insane [Axel]!"
"Yeah, ain't it cool!"

PS- That's from Broken Arrow

So if I put it on a Widescreen TV. Everyone will look REALLY FAT.

With BIG FAT HEADS...... Dont want that...http://www.plauder-smilies.de/anger.gif

I can set TV to 4:3 but it becomes TINY then..

Oh common - Beverly Hills Cop 3 is terrible - however, it does have one of the best bits of the trilogy:

'Acquel...Acquel and Billeeeeey.!'

whitty

LOL:D

Im tellin ya its the BEST..

Everyone is making quotes from 3....

BTW who the hell does Biiilleeeeeee work for.

I hope they are released seperately as i couldn't care less about the third one. It destroyed the magic of the first two by being TOO childish. It seemed as if it was aimed at a totally different age range. The first two are classics , the first one being my particular fave. I can't wait for them to come out. The soundtrack, although considerably dated now, is still one of the best movie, OST IMHO. Should sound great in 5.1 :D

Whitty, your complaints about 4:3 releases on your 16:9 TV is faintly amusing, since this is EXACTLY what "Joe Public" thinks about widescreen releases on their 4:3 TV! And we all agree that they are wrong, don't we? The fight is NOT for widescreen, the fight is for OAR(Original Aspect Ratio).

To be Honest I would have bought it in an INSTANT if it was Widescreen....

As soon as I saw it was 4:3. There was no way I was paying money for that TOSH...

EDIT:
Widescreen is VERY popular in UK and I dont see it changing. The only thing I can see chaging is maybe R1 disks, as US dont use Widescreen TV's as much as us BRITS..

yes, I agree on this point: Beverly Hills Cop 3 is utter cak..
As for serge's ruitine in number 3 - it seems so fake, and put on - as apposed to Beverly Hills Cop 1 where the scene in the arthouse is almost a show stealer. The accent is more natural and subtle. 3's just overblown and annoying. I'd say there's a marked contrast.

i've got to agree totally with Robby on this one - BCH3 was too childish. i've always been of the opinion that 1 was/is the best, followed by two, as it's more of the same really. BHC3 just blows. hate hate hate. Not funny at all.

i wouldn't mind a 1 & 2 boxset, no way do i want 3. i'd rather buy them seperate to be honest. Infact, i'd most likely only get BCH1.

The 3rd one is appalling, it's up there with the very worst films of all time, no question.

They better release a 3 film dvd boxset!!

BHC3 wasn't produced by Jerry Bruckheimer & Don Simpson --- that's why you guys don't like it!;)

First film was brilliant (same folk that made Midnight Run) but the 2nd was a nasty piece of trash and the 3rd was just complete pants,

I'm only interested in the first film as it's the best. BHC3 is crap!

According the the DVDProfiler is in 1.33:1! Does anyone know if this is true? I'm not interested in Full Screen DVDs! I hope it's a mistake!

But BHC3 has got the Head Dude in it.....thats right George Lucas!

And as we know, everything he touches turns to gold :p

I have to agree with Plasma Rifle. The first is something of a comedy classic, the other two are hopeless.

Gary Couzens

I guess I'm not the market for these DVDs. The first one doesn't do much for me (and I saw it twice) - thoroughly mediocre apart from Murphy, and a little of him goes a very long way. I detested #2 and I never saw #3.

Kai
28-10-2001, 23:02
Did any of yous guys see his interview on TV a while back? Even Murphy himself admitted that he didn't really want to do the 3rd one.

It was so funny because he said something along the lines of, "I really don't want to do it. But then they kept on coming back with more and more money and they gave me this big cheque and I couldn't refuse!"

I don't care what anyone says, I liked them all! 1 is the best, 2nd is still good and the 3rd is good when you just want to watch mindless film! :p

Like a lot of Kubrick's films, it was shot in 4:3, with the intention of removing the top and bottom portion when shown at the cinema (ie. it was shot open matte). You can see it as it was filmed by leaving your TV in 4:3 mode (yes, you get big black bars at the left and right but you're seeing it as it was shot -- and I believe Kubrick preferred the 4:3 versions, although I could be very wrong about this), or you can see it as it was shown at cinemas by using your TV's zoom function to zoom in on it and chop the top and bottom off (not stretching it) -- you're not losing anything important and it fills your 16:9 TV.
