Hi all,

Where is a good place to buy a TV stand from ?

It needs to support a 28" 4:3 TV (but support for larger size would be better as I am thinking of upgrading), DVD player, VCR and digibox.

Any suggestions and or websites would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Adam Brunt

Adam.

Personally I rate http://www.standsunique.com very highly.

If you surf my Sig you'll find I have two of their stands that do what you need.

Regards Jenz.

Try these guy's.

Never had any dealings with them but their prices don't seem too bad compared to some. For example a Sound Organisation 3 tier AV rack for £199 plus free delivery... pretty good ;) .

This is a cut and paste from Blenky's "Need a new Home Cinema stand " thread: http://thedvdforums.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=27201 note that this thread also has a link to a DIY Flexy site

If you are looking for cheap and cheerful but not complete crap, then I bought one from Ikea. Can't find it on their website but its grey, has silver legs and has two glass sliding doors at the front. I think its relatively cool, but obviously won't be to everyone's taste. Well my young, hip and trendy brother-in-law bought one after he saw it at our house, and of course it was approved by the wife.

I managed to fit: sony 1070, ondigital, video, dvd, meridian amp and cd player (not slim), although i had to take one shelf out as the ondigital was about 1mm too big. I have a 29 inch sony tv on top of it.

The good thing is that it costs approx £40-£50 (can't remember exactly) and is very easy to assemble.

I would definitely recommend the Sound Organisation stands mentioned by JonW above.
They are more expensive than some of the other options mentioned here though.
I have a 36'' crt, AV and stereo amps, digi box, tuner, DVD, and various power supplies etc all on one one of them. Its the one in the top right corner of the Sound Organisation picture on Jon's link. (£199 is same as I paid)
They have lovely plate glass shelves that rest on the metal frame with little rubber feet. Very strong and very good looking. Mine came with wheels as well as the spikes shown in the picture.
SO themselves are a very helpful company as well.

I got mine from http://www.mightymighty.demon.co.uk/

It's just made out of glass and supports my 36" w/s pannie that weighs 76kgs. The stand weighs 72kg! I designed mine and they built it, but they have 'off the shelf' too.
