Criterion 134 Haxan what region.

Hello I preordered Criterion Haxan as a present and it arrived today, but I have a PS2 only and I hope it is R0, so we can play it without having the expense of a dvd regionx, but it is nicely shrinkwrapped for Xmas and dont really want to open it to have to check. Anybody shed any light on it??????????

My copy's still in transit, so I won't be able to come up with a definitive answer until it arrives.

On balance, it should be region-free, though there have been oddities in the past (<I>The Passion of Joan of Arc</I> being Region 1, for instance) that mean that it's not a firm guarantee.

Amazon have the film down as R1, Criterion don't state but you could E-Mail them and ask.

Obviously take Amazon with a pinch of salt - ALL Criterions and Anchor Bay releases are listed as r1 on their site when in reality the majority are r0.

However www.criteriondvd.com list it as region 1 and they are usually spot-on.

However until the disc is in your (or someone else's) paws - you'll have to wait and see.

On the bright-side you'd get a killer trade for it over in the Classifieds if you can't play it :D

Saw this in France a week or so back (the US disc btw) - seem to remember it being R0 guys :D.
