Where can I get a small blackboard from - the type of thing that you might have in your kitchen (if you were that way inclined)?

Blimey, you're running a risk calling them blackboards on here at the moment! ;) Call them chalkboards please!

PC mad stuff. They are blackboards. And whiteboards are whiteboards not wipeboards.

a bit of MDF and some chalk/black board paint, as big or as small as you want for about £10.

get some paint (specific chalkboard paint) ideally in the colour black though this is not the only colour, you would use white, but this would still be a chalk board, but not a blackboard, or yellow, however whit chalk may not be seen easy, but black would.

May i suggest notepad and pen? its easier!

WTF is a 'chalkboard'? :lol:

Sounds like some US word to replace a name we already have that works very well, thank you. :oh-hum:

Few intresting (but pricy) ones here: http://www.designgate.co.uk/products.asp?Category=Blackboards

whiteboards are white,
blackboards are black,
if you think its about skin,
you've been sniffing crack!

Ok, so where can you get those boards that you see in cafe's/pub where the owners have written the menu and short messages on using a selection of brightly coloured pens?

Is it a special kind of board with special kinds of pens?

dragging this up rather than post a new request

I'm looking for a 'board' to screw to the kitchen wall that my 2 year old can scribble with chalk on - I've got a 1m X 1m spot that is ideal so a reasonable sized one is required.

Any suppliers known to people that could supply rather than pot luck on google ?

I'm too lazy to get MDF and paint and I think I'd make a drippy mess were I to try ;-)

Can't believe it's so expensive but they have a "writing board" at Ikea;
