They were great, and working in PR at the moment, as I recall. Saw them in Newport once, and they were the funniest thing I'd seen for ages.

Wasn't Big In Japan actually by Big In Japan? Could be wrong most of the Eighties were a bit of a blur to say the least

I wanted to really like Shampoo, unfortunatly I wasnt a sad middleaged, pervy Japanese business man with a fetish for schoolgirls.

I know they were big in Japan but didn't know if they were still technically together. I'm not surprised they were big in Japan though because their image was built on the tried and tested J-pop formula (Puffy AmiYumi etc).

No. They were crap. I had the misfortune to see them at Reading back in 1993. They'd been hyped quite a bit and most of the tent were looking forward to seeing them. It took about, ooh, five minutes into their shambolic, tinny set before the abuse started. Hell, they made Wendy James sound like Maria Callas.

Terrible, terrible, terrible. :oh-hum:

Big In Japan did a song called Big In Japan but I think you're thinking about Big In Japan by Alphaville.

He certainly did
