It's a bit pants, it only has the Japanese 2.0 audio rather than the very nice full rate DTS audio from the Korean edition.

I'd imagine the German DTS 5.1 dub would be very funny to listen to!

Tbh I think those audio specs are wrong.
I'd be very surprised if a set like this only has a 2.0 Japanese track, especially as every other release around the world has had DD5.1 minimum.

i think the Limited/special edition thing is going a bit nuts to be honest,

gimme good audio and visuals and a few extras i can watch straight after i've watched the film itself and that will do it for me these days,

i might as well use extras dics for frisbee's as i cant ever remember rewatching one

Clearly the German public has no appetite for Japanese audio hence why the only DTS/DD5.1 audio track is the German dub

What could possibly be on the discs?
I'm thinking:

Disc 1: Theatrical Version
Disc 2: Special Edition Edit
Disc 3: Current special features from the Tartan release {same as Jap disc**
Disc 4: Soundtrack

but then that still leaves a whole disc so I have no idea. I'd love to sell my Tartan tin and get this if only it had English subs.

What is the "Long Version", and where can I get it with English subs?

You'd think one of the disks would contain Battle Royale 2 as a booby prize.

Probably because it's a German release.

The sound data is correct !
Here's a little explaination from a forum newbie (hi guys)

The German distribution company KINOWELT bought the rights, dubbed it in German and than failed to release it uncut over here (I'm from Germany). They cut more than 30 scenes with a running time of nearly 8 minutes from the movie and the final result still got a rating of 18 :(
So we Germans didn't appreciated that very much :suspect: :cuckoo:
MARKETING a third class distributing company (95% trash movies) bought the release rights from Kinowelt, but even if they released it uncut they again failed us too.
They're only allowed to run a limited to 6,000 copies Special Edition release (they call it Perfect Edition) for an outrageous prices of more than 80 Euros .... No affordable single or double disk release

I mean in general. I was under the impression that there was no English dub, and was suprised that the German have there own dub though!

Germans dub everything. They're not keen on subtitles over there.
