I have a Radeon 9800 pro in my new pc and was wondering which games are best to test graphical performance.

Are there any good games which are set in jungle environments?

Also which driving games are good on pc?

get nfs:underground - looks great with the speed blur on.

also x2 the threat will test your system, turn the shadows on and watch the framerate drop! (in space though)

Far Cry (soon to be released) will look great on a 9800pro, and it has it's fair share of jungle enivonments (just look at this (http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/farcry/screens.html?page=220) screenshot). I'm sure it's only £17.99 to pre-order from Play.com as well, and you can also download the playable demo of it.

As for driving games, you can't go wrong with Need for Speed Underground- I don't know anybody who doesn't like that game  Also, Rallisport Challenge and Colin McRae 4 are worth checking out.

I've been wondering this myself since getting my 9800pro last week, been meaning to try out NFS:Underground.

Has anyone played Pro Evolution 3 on with this card? I'm thinking of getting that assuming i can get a couple of PS2 controllers cheap.

Cheers for the suggestions guys.

Anymore?

Also what are the best drivers for the 9800 pro and will they make a difference?

NFS:U in particular looks awesome with maxed out detail, although the cars look a little too shiny.. :dork:

Tron 2.0 looks lovely at 1280x1024 with full antialiasing and anisotropic filtering :D

Need For Speed Underground is a monster of a looker with all options cranked up, and will really push the card.

Also, if you're suitably broadbanded, have a look at the Unreal Tournament 2004 demo... fantastic graphics.

Am I the only one who thinks NFS:U is well ghey with motion blur on?

Wouldn't it look much better at that res with AA switched off, or at least, set to just 2x?

Since the game is based in a computer world with lots of hard edges anf bright contrasting colours, full antialiasing really does it justice, even at high resolutions.

I would tend to agree with Paul - once you get above a certain resolution, full antialiasing is pretty pointless ....

Has Call of Duty got any jungle environments?

Also is Max Payne 2 good for graphics?

In Tron 2.0 at 1280x1024, when looking at objects near the player there isn't a noticeable improvement by turning AA up to full. There is a big improvement with lines/edges of distant objects however, as they look much smoother - not a jagged line in sight!

Sorry, but what on earth does antialising mean??

My laptop has it on the graphics cards options and have always wondered what it does! :|

It blurs the edges of things to get rid of jaggies

Oh, and my 9800 Pro has shipped from Komplett

I already have Far Cry, Call of Duty, Max Payne 2, Splinter Cell 2 and Need for Speed Underground- with Painkiller on it's way to me soon. I'll be looking forward to Half Life 2 (obviously) and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. in the future :)
