What an absolutely fantastic film, I was stunned last night! I am a Jean-Pierre Jeunet fan but this is easily my fave film of his and possibly my fave of the year so far.

Anyone else seen it? Any news on the DVD?

The're some nice DVD boxsets out in France soon, but unfortunately they come without English subtitles. No doubt we'll get an overpriced, underspecced product eventually that isn't a patch on the French release. :(

Who has the rights to Amelie on R2 ?,
If we're really lucky it might be Tartan.:D
Although having said that, havent Tartan for once done a good job on In the mood for love ?.

No, they haven't - they cocked it up appallingly when they tried to do it themselves, and then decided to throw in the towel and buy the UK rights to the absolutely superb French edition, which they had nothing to do with.

Off the top of my head, I think Momentum are distributing Amelie over here, which means it'll probably be a 99% superb transfer but have one really irritatingly niggly fault somewhere. Still, I'd prefer it to a Tartan job any day of the week.

I was aware they were using the French edition but I didnt know they attempeted it themselves.
Still, Im guessing its a good thing they went for the French version, so we can expect an identical version on UK R2 ?.

Just a shame that TF1 video (producers of the French set) didn't have the foresight to include English subtitles on their original discs. I'm not interested in having a crappy dubbed English audio track, but I'd rather pay my money to the original producers to reward them for producing a great package than give it to a UK distributor who will try to take all the credit for themselves.

Glad to hear we'll be getting the equivalent of the French edition anyway. Hope Momentum keep all the extras too.
