View Full Version : Husker Du recommendations?
Bought a live album, Land Speed Record, at the weekend, and it's great. Any suggestions which albums to follow it up with? 'Warehouse' seems suspisciously cheap, is it any good?
Buy them all :D
Warehosue Songs & Stories is a superb record and well worth it at the knock down price you can get it at nowadays. Cany Apple Grey is the other one that can normally be picked up cheaply.
Warehouse is superb album but you may want to start off with something like Flip Your Wig or New Day Rising. Also I love the live album The Living End though there are those that hate it (may also be deleted).
Have fun
That was speedy! Many thanks....

Despite what I said I actually quite like Green Day althought Husker Du are far superior IMO.
No probs about the cover if it's any good as it's been covered by loads of bands including the Clash

If you can find a VHS copy of 'Makes No Sense' on eBay, it's well worth paying a few quid for.

Intolerance is a fantastic album. Never heard any Nova Mob stuff so may check them out.
Grant Hart made an album called "good news for the modern man" in 1999 I think which his best post-du record IMHO. Track it down if you can.

ANd then treat yourself to a copy of 'poison years' by Bob Mould. A collections of 'the best of' Black Sheets of Rain and Workbook with some killer live songs at the end including the Richard Thomson 'Shoot out the lights' which has a cracking guitar solo in it.

Cheers, just got one from Amazon marketplace for £8.00 delivered
Many thanks to all. Got Flip Your Wig today, and Warehouse and'll have a listen over the weekend. Is Black Sheets of Rain good then? There's been one in the local second hand shop for weeks and I've not got round to getting it. Will pop in on the way home from work methinks, but is it a 'best of' or a full album?

Black Sheets of Rain is a full abum.
I must admit to have not having listened to it for a very long time but IIRC it is well worth getting espeically if you can pick it up cheaply
No mate Black Sheets Of Rain is a full album. Poison Years is the 'best of' from that period. Enjoy Flip Your Wig
