Alba problems

I don't know whether this is in the right forum, but here goes....

i have recently noticed that the picture from my DVD player (Alba multi region) has become "blocky", especially in the darker colours. It looks like a bad transfer and is beginning to closely resemble a vcd!

Any ideas?

Could it be dirty and need a clean?

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately blocky pixellating picture is one of the many well-known faults of the Alba players.

There isn't a fix other than taking it back for an exchange (or like many previous owners - a refund).
There have been lots of threads on this forum on the Alba.Everyone seemed to end up returning them because of faults (this was the 103 model).
