Hi chaps and chapettes....

I've had a crummy 3mb trailer for this film for a while now, but have just found an 18mb beauty that i'm about to start downloading (Crappy 56k :( )....

For those that don't read my anime updates on DVDTimes (http://www.dvdtimes.co.uk) (shame on you!) then Metopolis is a film penned by Katsuhiro Otomo (Akira) and Directed by Rin Taro and has been wowing festival audiences for a while now....and I am quite simply gagging to see it :D

Plot Outline
Set in the future, Metropolis is a grand city-state populated by humans and robots, the cohabitants of a strictly segmented society. Amidst the chaos created by anti-robot factions, detective Shunsaku Ban and his sidekick Ken-ichi are searching for rebel scientist Dr. Laughton, to arrest him and seize his latest creation, a beautiful young girl named Tima.

The R2 Japanese Disc (Dec 7th) will hopefully have English subs as those B'Stards at Columbia Tristar who are handling the US release have apparently edited the film :(

Trailer Link (18mb) (http://www.metropolis-movie.com/media/trailer2_l.mov)

check it out :)

For those of you with the Final Fantasy disc, check out the trailers feature on disc one. It does look very good.

Hey Dave, where’ve you seen that it’ll have English subs? AFAIK none of the Japanese sites are showing anything other than Japanese language. Are you privvy to some anime inside knowledge? Hope so :D

Good news about Jin-Roh for next March though, eh?

Jin-Roh will be the first DTS anime released on R1, I believe. The special edition version sounds extremely tasty! Was planning on getting the HK one, but now I'll just wait till the US one comes out!

The Jin-Roh news is fantastic - been following the French release for a while now (Nov 29th) but it looks like the US is getting the same package with English subtitles :) Look for another news update when I can be arsed :D Never seen the film though!

As for Metropolis - I have no inside info, but I live in hope that it will feature English subtitles simply because 'Avalon' was exactly the same, no english subs were announced but upon release it had them (and both titles are Bandai titles in Japan). Plus i'm sure CDJapan originally listed it as having english subs and like many other folks on AnimeonDVDs forums, just living in hope :) its a cheap R2 disc as well (about £25).

Downloaded the trailer BTW - looks great and the reviews for this film are generally first rate :)
