View Full Version : Eltax Speakers
I'm thinking of purchasing either of these sets of speakers from QED.
ELTAX SILVERDO 5 SPK PACK SILVER
ELTAX STARGATE X.1 SUB+5 SPKS SILVER
I want to use them for both DVD and Music, so do you folks have any advice.
Also what amps are you folks using to drive them, or has anybody got any suggestions.
If you don't have a sub, then go for the Stargate pack. If you do, then do what I did and buy the Silverado pack - they look good and sound excellent. I use the Sherwood 6106R DTS/DD amp with no probs at all.
Hi, I've got the Stargate x.1 with a Sony STR-DB1070 amp and find them v.good for films and music. A bargain for £109
I also have the Stargate X1's and find them good for music and movies on my Kenwood 5050.

I can't believe how cheap these are, especially with everyone raving about them. How good are they really??
How do they compare to a £3-400 kit?
Thanks for the input, its much appreciated.
I'm gonna go for the Stargates as i dont currently own a sub.
But i'm still not sure about what amp to go for I want DTS but i'm on a tight budget of around £150.
Any Ideas?
I got the Kenwood 5050 from Richer Sounds for 159.
I'm happy with the sound, though it's only got composite video switching if you were planning to pass your video through it.
I would certainly recommend it as a v. good first system for the money.
If you're going to buy the Stargates, you get speaker cables with it so you shouldn't need much more.
