Did this game ever get released??? I believe that it was cancelled at the last minute, but did it every get released on the net, in a final beta form, much like Half-Life did???

Nope. Some betas are known to be out there, but none have been publicly released.

Alledgedly, the HL that was released is the final beta and not the master - apparently there is a master out there that is the final final product.

An actual GD-Rom of Propellar Arena has just been sold on ebay...

Pretty sure the game was finished and ready to go, just got canned because of the September 11th attacks.

You never know!

According to the uk.games.video.dreamcast group, one of the dreamcast scene groups have got hold of this and plan to release it to the community sometime in the near future :)

Of course after all this time it probably won't be as good as Crimson Skies, but it would be nice to have after waiting so long!

Yeah, the guy paid $1500

No release group has it. However, a guy has bought it who will give it to a guy with the SDK for dumpage.

I am playing this now! Just dusted off the old DC (My fave console ever!) and its really good. Don't know why they never released it although it was said that at the time that it was to do with 9/11 but I can't believe that. Great game, get a copy if you can.

It was to do with the events of September 11th. It involves dogfighting with aircraft and one level in particularly was an urban environment with a few skyscapers. Sega were sensitive and didn't realise it because of that - the final beta that was released online in this form was actually made in the morning of September 11th.

I've just got to the level you mentioned and there are a lot of skyscrapers in it. (I crashed into two of them by accident ) At least a few people will get to play it now anyway
