Have a look at this http://www.dvdprofiler.com/mc.asp?alias=Jez&type=O&sc=C&ls=T and let me know what you think. I've only been buying for just over a year.
You've got some good films in there, as well as some rubbish ones.
This is what you call a collection. (http://www.dvdprofiler.com/mc.asp?alias=Munasif&type=O&sc=C&ls=A)

Driven, 8 legged freaks and two Tomb Raider films:cuckoo:
In my opinion there are some terrible films there mixed in with some good ones.

That is probably a valid comment for everyones collections!
:)
Indeed.
My collection is in my sig and there's a not inconsiderable load of rubbish in there.

hey, here's an idea. how about instead of just ogling other people collections, how's about recommendations...
example: if someone owns Braindead, but has never heard of Bad Taste (an unlikely scenario, admitadly) then there's a recommendation.. plus it's a loverly OTT Anchor Bay disc with dts an all. ;)
So, Bruce. you own Brazil Criterion, so you're obviously a fan. how about Strange Days and Delicatessen? (less-so the last one, but it has got a similar bunch of weirdo's underground)
sig included. :suspect: ;)
your id stinks! ;)
didnt see the critic on your list even though you are jay shermen! its a great set and should be your next addition as you obviously like it!

You turned off The Killer? I suppose you found A Better Tomorrow and Hard-Boiled impossible to stomach then.

currently I am awaiting -
Quatermass + Quatermass 2 (R1) from DVD Pacific for £16 inc p&p
Trancers 2 (R2)
Bulletproof Monk (R3)
Babylon 5 season 4 (R2)
Buffy Season 7 (R2)
any suggestions for future additions welcomed.
So little time, so many DVD's!
Surely it's all a matter of taste? Criticising other people's collections because they don't have all our favourites seems a bit pointless to me.
By the way, click my sig to see a 'proper' collection! ;) ;)

Oh no what have I started. Can't we all just get along  . I know I've got some dodgy ones but haven't we all. My trouble is I just can't resist a bargain. "Driven" was a fiver, "AI" was £6.99, and you can never have enough "Muppets". Also I hate to admit that I'm a bit of a wrestling nut. "No Way Out" tonite. Can't wait.

I must admit, quite an eclectic mix. There's a few I wouldn't own myself but then casting an eye over my own collection I'm not in a position to judge.
I've also noted a few must haves. Am still trying to "round out" my collection, but try as I might it just get's wierder. As the saying goes (Rude word removed of course)

Yup, seen all of them apart from 6 which only dropped through the letterbox recently.
I also must've traded about 300 DVDs too, which were also all watched. Well, apart from those few that I turned off before the end ;)
It does take some time prioritisation though, I have to admit.
140 is a hell of a lot mate! How often do you watch a DVD?

What's Marquis de Sade's Justine like btw? I've never seen her act but if Romina Power's acting is anything like her singing voice she'd give Sofia Coppola a run for her money...

The problem is (for me at least) that DVD prices have been dropping like a stone over the last 3 years so (thanks to CD WOW and Play). DVD's are now available very quickly after their cinema release (either here or abroad).
Plus when you also consider the cost of travel to my local cinema, tickets, popcorn (or similar snack), the near impossibility of getting a parking space plus intangibles like putting up with the tossers who think it is OK to chat to their mates, make phone calls, throw food, shout inane comments and advice at the characters it is CHEAPER to wait for the DVD and also more pleasant to watch it at home!
I love going to the cinema but only if the other people respect MY right to watch the film in peace without acting like complete MF's, the catch is that many people don't.

W.W.W. I like that one.. despite it being universally panned. (As I said I have "odd" tastes)
As for Marquis de Sade's Justine well... erm... less said about that the better. Saw it in a bargain bin in some shop and the front image caught my eye. Jack Palance is almost comical I must say.
And before anyone else points out my more embarrasing DVD's I will point out that Yes.. I admit it.. I bought the Anime Darkness series. but in my defence I've watched 10 minutes of one and have consigned the rest to the Shelf of no return ;)

Go to your "user cp" (top of screen) and then "edit profile".
There is a box where you can change your sig.
Example of one of mine......
[ color=red][ size=1][ URL=http://www.thedvdforums.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=172142]Gold Trader
First bit is you can specify a colour if you want. Then I selected size 1 to make it tidy. The bit after "URL" is whatever you want to link to and finally, the text (in this case "GOLD TRADER" is whatever text you want to show up as your link.
I have left a space after a couple of the "[" signs or else it wouldn't show up here properly to show you.
