I've noticed there are a number of different ITV Digital boxes now available.

Is there any benefit in upgrading my box? (I have the original Phillips model). Do they give better sound or picture?

I get quite a few lock-up's at the moment which is mildly annoying and would be nice to fix if possible.

If some of the newer boxes are better then will ITV Digital upgrade my box for me if I ask (I'm on a pre-pay account)? I know I could phone them but I don't fancy holding for half-an-hour plus and then be given the wrong answer!

Thanks.

I upgraded to a second generation set top (Pioneer) and it is a vast improvement. Also consider the newer Pace DST too.

Did you buy a new box or get one through ITV Digital?

I have had a Nokia and now a Pioneer. The Nokia was 'ok' but the lockups annoyed. The Pioneer is a joy to use and look at and since having it have never had a single lockup (6 months!). No idea how upgrades work on Pre-pay though?

Just, could you tell me the model number of the Pioneer?

Might be handy if I do need to call ITV digital.

Many thanks.

I bought a new pre pay package for £80. ITV Digital offered a renewal of my package with the Nokia for £99. No contest!

No probs, will have a look in the manual later, however if you need it sooner I think there has only been one box made by Pioneer that OND/ITVD have issued.

It's a DBR-T210. For the record,I have access to three of them and they are not immune to lock ups and are not over resiliant to ecm's either.

Concur with this; DBR-T210GBS it says on the manual.
