View Full Version : [Xbox] Links 2004 : DVDF Career Challenge *A Fresh Start !?*
I've just done all the R4 stats and put them up in the first post.
A couple of changes that have been made are :
1) If you have 4 "incs" then your handicap stays the same for the next Tourney
2) If you have 4 "incs" then you get no prize money.You have to complete at least 1 Round.
I'll get the 5th Round all set up in a few minutes.

Yep,I usually give a week to join up and then a week to play your 4 rounds.
If everyone joins up before the deadline then I activate the compo early and you have more time to play your 4 rounds.

Go to xsnsports.com.Click on the "Links" tab.Click "Join competition".
Where it say "search by competition name" type in "DVD FORUMS FIVE".It will then ask you for a password,type in the one I gave on the previous page.Voila

Right mate it's cool, on the side of the tournament page you'll see a white box once the tourney starts. It'll say this:
Name: DVD FORUMS FIVE
Password: 14912149
Round Settings: see table
When it start, go the the Xbox Live menu in Links. Then choose XSN. Enter the name of the tournament (DVD FORUMS FIVE) the the password (14912149). Then that tournament will be in the XSN menu once you choose it. Select that and it'll ask for Round Settings: There's a code in the table for each round. You enter that then do your 18. If you're planning doing more than one round in succession, sign out of xbox live then back in so it doesn't trip over itself in updating and give you an inc. Make sure you follow the game back to the menu after your 18 too so it registers your score - it will tell you when it has, it'll say it'll be uploaded in about 15 mins.
If you want to play with someone, or get a mate who is not in XSN to do the round with you, he can do, just make sure you host and are signed into XSN - similarly if you join a fellow tournament player, make sure you sign into the round settings first so it logs the score.

I got an inc :razz: I got - 5 on the 3rd last night but it didnt update , just checked the board now and It put an inc on my third round :brickwall
Can anyone join mid season or is it only by invitation?
No probs with joining mid season (just means you will have to play out of your skin to catch the top few up :) )

It's the pits when that happens. I've had it happen twice now when the whole game locked up in each case. Unlucky m8.
A slightly better 2nd Round but a few bogies (and double bogies) spolied what could have been a lot better score.
I think ill play this today :thumbs:

Just double check everything :dork:
Worked fine for me, wish it hadn't, i played the middle 2 rounds, scored -8 on the 2 nd round, double bogeyed the 18th :doh: and for the 3rd got -11, i'm not too impressed by them scores and now think i will do the other 2 as i doubt i will win this one now :cry:
Just finished my rounds. Had a stormer in the 3rd but I still have trouble with the Lob wedge :razz:

I did alright, I don't think greywolf is that hard a course if you can master the elevation changes. A bit cheeky but any chance of delaying the start of the next round as I'm away for 2 weeks. ;)
I'm sure MrS could add a week after the end date for you as well mate if you rub his belly or summat :D
Can I just check with this - when you take your swing, the right analog stick left/right obviously makes the ball swing that way. What about up/down? One is more spin (ball roll forward) and one is back (ball roll back or is that roll less forward?) I've been using them as inverterd as per the instruction manual but I'm not sure now. :cuckoo:

I use the right anaolg stick left/right for swinging the ball and push forwards for top spin and backwards for back spin.
Uridium you will need an intermediate level player to take part in the tournaments :thumbs:

No you just have to create an intermediate level player in your career mode.
Yep you gotta start again mate :( Delete your beginner one and start again with Intermediate. Beginner is way too easy anyways.

I'll still do them although I do seem pants at Links compared to some of you. It's the "inc" factor that bugs me the most. Links is the only Xbox game I've played that has ever hung and this has happened a couple of times and only when doing the pigging XSN tournament so the whole 4 rounds is stuffed.

Almost the same - some monkey had taken Uridium so my gamertag is UR1D1UM.
Hope we can keep this going - am utterly hooked on the game at the mo! Quite keen to meet up for a one on one if anyone fancies it.

In fact I'm mulling over the thought of starting afresh as quite a few have dropped out and others have joined.Plus I've finally got all the rules sorted :)

When are the games played? btw I've ordered the Live kit today, so should be up and running soon.
You play the game on your own at anytime you like before the deadline, then the scores are uploaded to xsn (usually anyway :lol: )

Excellent - let me know if you need any help running things MrSpeed. My DVD Open compo finishes tomorrow so will be looking for a new challenge. Shot a 12 and 10 under respectively on Loch Lomond and Greywolf last night. Wish I could use those scores on the leaderboard but I guess it's better that you only get one chance to play a round.

Starting again sounds good, but if there is only about 3-4 rounds left couldn't we just play through them quickly for whoever wants to play and those who are new can get a bit of practise.
