I've just taken delivery of my new Mordaunt Short home theatre speaker pack and I'm struggling a bit with the wiring. The instruction book leaves a lot to be desired.

1) The sub woofer has 2 line inputs, red and white, but my amp only has one sub out socket. What do I connect it to?

2) There's an impedance switch on the back of the amp, for 4 or 8 ohms. Again, which do I use? Is it safe to play around with that switch just to experiment?

I had the same prroblem. First off try just connecting to the left (white) channel. If you get sufficient volume then all well and good. The only other thing you can do is buy a "Y" splitter cable to enable the single connection to link to both inputs.

I would have thought the impedance switch would only be used on hi level inputs, ie the wires that would normally go to left and right speakers.

Thanks. Why does it have 2 inputs then?

The manual should tell you what the impedance of your speakers are. Set it to that. Im guessing 8.
