Columbia Tristar are listing two new versions of Sam Raimi's Summer 2002 blockbuster Spider-Man for release on May the 24th.
These are a three-disc "DE", and a Superbit version. Columbia have also pencilled in Spider-Man: The Animated Series for the 5th of April.

Will be interesting to see how much better this version will be, I thought the first version brought out was superb in my opinion, and cant see what else they can really add.
My Only Guess is More Documentries on the film, A Deleted Scenes Section, and a Sneak Peak at Spidey 2

I've got the R1 versions and the pictures average.
A decent transfer and DTS would be nice (which should be the Superbit version at least).
wtf is a "DE" Edition?
"director's edition" is all I can think of!?
i think its definitive edition

'Dou you really think that this is the final Edition (insert evil laugh)'
Well that's what my cynical side thinks anyways...;)

Might be Deluxe Edition. There's sweet F.A that can be added to the Spider-Man disc really, I'l bet its going to just be a 2 minute preview of Spider-Man 2 (half of which is the teaset trailer) and maybe a stupid figurine.

even though he's only in the film for a minute or two, a Bruce Campbell commentary would be most welcome....
though i don't think even that would make me part with 15 odd pound....
well, maybe. ;)

Perhaps if they finished off the CG in the film it might be worth buying. The animated spiderman in certain shots was bloody awful. Didn't look finished...
d'oh! oh yeah, must be a 'Deluxe Edition' ala "Black Hawk Down" 3 disc Deluxe Edition! :brickwall (my brain ain't working today!)

There's already a Korean "Superbit" release available from YesAsia.

I think I remember Raimi saying at the time of the current DVD release that pretty much everything that was shot is included in his final cut and that there are no substantial deleted scenes? So I'm not expecting a Director's Cut or anything.
Personally, I'm more than happy with the current release, especially as I picked it up for about £7.
Jap Superbit is fantastic for DTS sound! :luv:

I disagree, its no better than the 5.1 mix we have already.

So where can I get the edition shown in the picture?
