View Full Version : Original Twilight Zone TV Series.
Anyone have the complete set?
Interested in getting all the DVDs but afraid it would take up too much shelf space.

I'm waiting for the 80s series. Will this ever come? I used to watch these in my early teens during the 80s, they were great. Not as good as the original but I still like them.
I'm sure there's a thread on Home Theatre Forum about the 80's TZ's coming this year.
Just had a search on the net and "The New Twilight Zone" website says the first season will be out on dvd sometime this year with the second and third seasons out around the end of this year to the beginning of next!

I have a about 6 dvds of the original series and they are a pain in the arse and expensive to collect. They should really box them together and sell them for a lot less than they do individually ... otherwise I will never get the complete set no matter how much I love them.
3 episodes per a disc is just plain tight ...
Anyone have 'The Outer Limits' sets?
How do they compare?
The New Twilight Zone is my most awaited DVD release since the format began. However, it's not a slam dunk. All the episodes were changed for syndication with new voiceovers and different edits - all for the worse it has to be said. These were the episodes shown by Bravo way back when. Let's hope the DVD release shows the episodes as originally broadcast. The late great Charles Aidman was twice the narrator Serling was - just perfect.
But the original 80 episodes of Seasons One and Two are glorious stuff. Wes Craven's best work - probably John Millius' too (even although he did just one heavily criticised episode - I thought it was magnificent).
Forget Series Three. It used the same credit sequence but it's a whole different animal. All the key creative people left, the production moved to Canada, and the series was probably on a par with Amazing Stories (which couldn't lick the boots of Series One and Two).

3 episodes per a disc is just plain tight ... They re-released them in 9 disc boxsets (there's 5 or 6 sets) a while ago..
