I knew she wrote a few big hits, but did'nt think it was this many.

I tell you one thing- shes a rum ol' girl
That's a serious back catalogue, certainly.
I personally don't confuse "good" with "prolific" or "populist", though.

On the other hand it must be quite a good gig in the sense that she gets tonnes of money from these songs, but could (and has) easily hidden herself from media attention.
Shame I hate pretty much everything I've heard by her.
Guess she's probably responsible for a lot of songs with the obligatory key change moment near the end. :|

Bruckheimer films just wouldn't be the same without her inevitable terrible power ballad.
Personally I think her best work was with Meat Loaf. When Jim Steinman couldn't be bothered to get involved with the follow up to Bat II, Warren was brought in to come up with the new "I'd Do Anything for Love (But I Won't Do That)". The result was "I'd Lie For You (And That's The Truth)". :notworthy You've got to admire the woman for getting away with it for so long.
Isn't there a famous quote along the lines that every 5 minutes around the world, someone is listening to a Diane Warren song? What they neglect to mention is every 5 minutes someone saying "What is this crap?"
Yeah i heard that aswelll

I'd say alot of these musical cliches are probably the fault of the producers. Producers who think if something works in one song, it'll work in a thousand songs.
Most of writers in the pop world only have to write a verse and a chorus until the producers step in and say, "okay, we'll take it from here."

Hmm, don't think she's ever written anything for the Eurovision Song Contest...
*dramatically flings arms in air during the key change*
You think Eurovision's responsible for the majority of such songs?
I was wetting myself the first time I heard Michelle Pop Idol's terrible track and the obligatory key-change cropped up near the end! :D

No, but the key change is an essential part of any Eurovision tune worth its salt, as is dramatically flinging your arms up in the air during said key change ;)
Diane Warren - written some decent songs in her time but often rather formulaic.

She's pure class, period. You don't write that many great songs by being crap, regardless of your tastes!!!

Define 'great' :)
Great as in amount of sales? Yep. Great as in good songwriting? Nope :|
I feel that she writes best for female artists.

She's worth an absolute mint as she has never relinquished copyright on any of her songs - this paragraph from her publishing company history gives some idea of how much she must be raking in.
"In the nineties, REALSONGS was named the Number 1 Singles Publisher of the Year by Billboard, beating out it's competition ( huge publishing conglomerates) with their large rosters of writers. What makes this achievement, and the many that have followed all the more distinguished, is the fact that REALSONGS is in the unique business of representing only one songwriter, Diane Warren."
