I finally got to see the new sp ed of this movie and I have to say it is still cut from the cinema version I saw in HK.

Although it has been many years since I have seen this uncut version, I have always insisted that the R1 DVD was cut but it seems that no one else has seen the version that I saw.

1 scene I do remember clearly is the extended fight scene between Bruce and the german at the end amongst the containers ... This is where bruce bashes the german's head numerous times on a container before he is finally knocked out. This scene is obviously cut on the R1 DVD because bruce surprisingly knocks him out with one kick before it is cut to a point where he picks the walkie/gun up from the german.

Another obvious cut is the knife slashing scene by the women on the security guard. If you notice there is blood on the wall from no obvious slash made by the women because it is edited out.

The lift scene is still cut although I'm a little unsure where.

the container fight scene is definitely cut, but I thought that the others were intact. I'll have to do a comparison between the DVD and the laserdisc versions to be sure though. Maybe a job for tonight if I get time.

Well this is the first I've heard of this, but I guess the R1 Sp Ed is the least cut we're going to see this on DVD (and I've just bagged it for under £13 from TAU! :D )

Seems a little strange that this doesn't seem to be mentioned anywhere else, seeing as this is a pretty high-profile film....

I've got the original DVD version and it's cut at the end of Chapter of 10. Just as the lads are about the shoot the security guards the scene changes to Jeremy Irons walking down the corridor!

You'd think it's a layer change but it's not!

Yeah I always said the original R1 NON-anamorphic DVD was cut but there were a lot of skeptics so I kept my mouth shout seeing that no one saw the version I saw.

The New Sp ed has certain cut scenes extended although I can not double check as I don't have the original DVDs at hand. So the sp ed so far is as uncut as your able to buy on DVD ... I just wanted to make the point that it is still different from the version I saw in the cinemas.

... but perhaps my memory is playing games with me like the central character in memento which I saw this weekend ... (excellent movie by the way)
