Quite fancied getting this for Xmas, but which is going to be the region of choice when it comes to the extras?

Don't forget though that the R2 will be an EIV disc so two weeks after it's released you'll be able to buy it for £2.99* in an HMV sale.

* O.K it might be a bit more.

Plus with the EIV release you'll probably get less features and the pretty animated menus from the region 1 edition will probably be missing.

As with Blade, Dark City and many others - get the region 1 edition

i've just replaced my last EiV disc (altho i only actually had 2!) with a R1 copy of Rush Hour from TAU as they have it for C$22 ~ about 9.75 GBP (as good a price as an EiV!)

and actually, my R2 Rush Hour did only cost me 1.99!

Don't buy the Region 2 version as it will most likely be missing the subtitles when they're speaking Cantonese. For some strange reason EiV removed the subtitles on the Rush Hour DVD.

EiV are crap distributors!

Or they'll be on the disc but EiV will forget to mention them on the back of the box! :)

Nothings wrong with R2 Blade, and nothings wrong with EIV.
OK, they had a bad start but they've pretty much fixed their problems now and have been putting out good discs for well over 8 months.
Infact, their one of the few R2 distirbuters that produce pretty much identical copies of the R1 edition.

Wait til January and you'll be picking up Rush Hour 2 for £9.99 in HMV.

Could they please update their logo!
It must of been transferred from a 4 generation VHS copy!

Someone told me the R2 edition is missing the DVD ROM features as well as the pretty rotating menu screens.

So although its not missing an extra commentary track (like Dark City R2 is) if you haven't got either region, the R1 remains the best edition.

It has the flashy menus you speak of.
It may lack the DVD ROM features but I hardly consider that enough of a reason to run EIV into the ground, especially as DVD ROM features are usually about as exciting as a turd on a stick.

Actually, EIV's recent releases have been better than the R1 editions so this quote is now not true. The evidence is clear, LITTLE NICKY has a dts track on R2, as does Lost Souls and 15 minutes, they just need to get the packaging sorted now.!
