View Full Version : A Better Tomorrow I & II re-released in R1
Rounding out today's news is a new two-disc reissue of John Woo's influential A Better Tomorrow and A Better Tomorrow II from Anchor Bay Entertainment. Due on March 2nd, this set includes 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen remasters, Cantonese Dolby 5.1 and mono soundtracks, an English mono dub, talent bios and theatrical trailers. Retail for this set will be $24.95..
Sounds pretty good - the 5.1 audio should be correct this time plus for the both movies, its a good price!

Looking at the specs on Anchor Bays site it looks like it’s just the old discs repackaged in a double pack. :|
If I am wrong and they are re-mastered prints I’ll have to buy both again. :p
The original releases were meant to be 5.1 but they botched it and had to cut them on a reissue and leave just the mono track. It sounds like this time they have got the 5.1 remix tracks back ;)

Must admit for me, 5.1 isn’t a priority on 80's movies from Hong Kong. Want I want is the original Stereo Cantonese mix’s. :brickwall

I'd like to see a R1/HKL Bullet in the Head release sometime soon.

Me too I recently gave in and bought the R3 HK disc (never seen the movie before) and its picture is terrible it’s washed out, grainy and skips half a second every so often (tried it on 4 players all have the same problem). Still it was only £4
