Just noticed that both Bill and Ted's are available for pre-order form play (£10 each, r1, 4/12/2001) :)

Does anyone know what packaging they'll be in?

what's a 'keep case'????

Does anyone know if the R2 will get a Dolby 5.1 re-release??? The current release is 2.0 unlike it's R1 counterpart.

A 'keep case' is another name for an Amaray style case.

I would think it's extremely unlikely that they will be re-released in R2 with new soundtracks - why not just buy the R1 discs, which are dead cheap from A&B Sound?

OK. Fair point. Ditch the 'wait for better R2s' option. Just checked out the prices on A&B and they're $13.79 each. Plus the $6 shipping and converted to ££ = £23 approx.

Play 247 have them (R1) for £9.99 a throw (inc P&P) so I'll plump for them on this occasion. Cheers for the advice!!

I'm afraid your currency conversion is bogus ;) , the A&B Sound prices that you quote are in Canadian $. The 2 'Bill & Ted' discs come to £17 delivered, plus you can add another DVD for no additional shipping cost, including the 'Almost Famous - Bootleg Cut' 3 disc set - which comes to a bargain £12.85 (they are shipping it for the same price as a single disc) :D

Both have a black amaray case and inlay card.

Excellent Adventures :- 2.35:1 16x9 Transfer 5.1 DD
Bogus Journey :- 1.85:1 16x9 Transfer 5.1 DD

Trailers on both. Bogus Journey has a featurette.

The 5.1 track on excellent adventures sounds like a stereo mix at times, no music through the back.

The 5.1 track on bogus journey is excellent. Superb surround on the opening scenes. Very good for £10

All the R2 reviews of Bill & Teds excellent adventure seem to claim that the transfer is top notch, where as the R1 reviews say its below average.

Anyone seen Bill and Ted's recently? I have not seen it for a while and was wondering if has aged any.

Bill & Ted Aged?

Yep! but as long as you remember the culture of the time then it's fine.

"..and now opening for Iron Maiden. WYLD STALLYNS!!"

Too many good one liners and gags in these films to ever grow out of them.

Party on.

Do you ever get annoyed by Wayne & Garth fans dissing Bill & Ted? Most bogus. I always though W&G were like a more commercialised slicker version of Bill & Ted with more down to earth themes. I'm reminded of the studio controlled version of "Waynes World" in the film vs the garage version.

I think the Waynes world movies were clearly funnier. There's nothing in either Bill & Ted movie which can compete with the YMCA sendup & Garth zapping people with a cattle prod just to get furthre in the que for the toilets.
Bill & Ted tends to be a so bad its good type comedy, and obviously thats exactly how the film was meant to be seen as.
As Bill & Ted was so far "out there", compared with Waynes World you'll probably find that in some ways it stands the test of time a little better. Waynes world was a film which very much relied on then-pop culture to sell the jokes, it will be interesting to see how dated those same jokes look today.

Jimmyboy: Get DOWN with your bad self!

Well I laugh more at B&T so there!

The cattle prod in WW is easily trumped by "Want a twinkie Genghis Khan?" :D

The funniest thing for me in the Waynes World movies was Garth torturing his doughnut man and the fabulous dubbed or subtitled question before the fight with Cassandras father.
