One of the guys I work with is Desmond Hannon. Can anyone work out who he is? :D

Listening to this at the moment. It's sounding pretty good...for what is essentially a Neil Hannon solo album.

But all the Divine Comedy albums up to Regeneration were essentially Neil Hannon plus musicians. Joby Talbot had a big arrangment input and an occasional songwriting credit, but it's always been definitively Mr Hannon's band.

Yep, fair enough. Valid point. What I was getting at was that this album is where it's just Neil Hannon + added sessionists whereas on the former albums, people like you say have had a greater impact on The Divine Comedy's output.

That's one of the reasons I'm looking forward to it: Liberation and Promenade were the last albums he made this way, and they are two of the finest albums I know.

Of course but they've always come across as a band or maybe it's always been Neil Hannon's gregarious nature thats come across.
