I put Battle Royale on at 2.30 in the morning last night just to check that the disc works ok with no intention of watching it.
Ended up watching the entire film and staying up the whole night.
bloody brilliant !.

I thought it was very poor. Quite good production values but very bland and uninteresting. Almost like a cartoon in fact.
I couldn't find one single likeable character.
I have to agree, although Kitano is (of course!) the best thing about it, he's not exactly likeable! The rest of these *actors* were very poor, and the dialouge was so damn cheesy so that couldn't have helped. A shame because the opening was impressive..

I gotta say, I actually quite enjoyed it, although I *didn't* think it was as gory as it was originally made out to be.
Great film! :D So what if the acting is a bit corny -- it's SE Asia not Hollywood ;)

I enjoyed this flick - it was very different to how I had expected (& had been told)
I thought there probably were some questionable performances, but on the whole I thought they were more than passable.
An interesting premise, carried off not totally successfully, but a good watch all the same.

Takashi is hilarious!
The bit where he throws that knife into that girls head and says 'I said no whispering!' is going to have bemused teachers everywhere salivating in delight!
Film was a little dissapointing for me though, you didn't really care who lives and who dies, plus, it was also a bit crap to see weapons being limited to guns (and saucepan lids!?), I was hoping for more adventurous, video gamey weapons for extra gore!

Well I like all these (http://homepage.ntlworld.com/garyford/dvd.html)
More importanly, what a this Scientology garbage? Do you know that's deemed to be a banned oganisation in several countries?
And what all this AALIYAH nonsense? Did she not <u>insist</u> on overloading that plane and therefore is responsible for the deaths of several people?
Are you really in LA? If so what's the largest building on Maple Ave, 90215?
Just a few thoughts ;)

I see your back to bring us misery APPRIA40WR, it was all so peacefull while you were gone.:D
Where have you been anyways ?.
Maybe those that arent so fond of it heard to much hype to begin with ?.
Still, I didnt notice any bad performance's from any of the cast members, I thought it was both shocking and violent yet the blend of comedy prevented it from becoming gore for the sake of it.
Loved it myself.

Hey, I'm not attacking your religion do I? It's a perfectly legitimate practice that brings a peace of mind to many, unlike the opressive Christianity and other ones.
What Aaliyah nonsense? Can't some people remember and honor her memory for a while? She did not insist on overloading the plane, she wanted to stay the night but her producers wanted her in Florida for some stupid party and made her board some plane they found quickly in an hour. Get your facts straight.
I don't like you

I don't have a religion so how can you attack it? I've not attacked Scientology either. Anyhow, are you saying it's a religion? Plus if you put controversial things in your sig then you're a magnet for my comment. Sigs are for people to look at after all.

Just wondering. I'd never heard of her until she died.

And the answer to my question (If so what's the largest building on Maple Ave, 90215? ) since you say you're in LA?

Oh so you're proud that people don't like you? Ok then.
How the hell should I know what the largest building is on some Maple ave? I've never been to that zip code, I lived in 90212, by 90210 and now in 90046 in hollywood hills, near bel air and mulholland dr.
Do you have any idea how many Maple and Elm and Palm drives and avenues are here? Jeez :p

LOL! :D
Glad to see you have a sense of humour!
In case someone asks you that question again (ya never know!) it's the Belldini building :D

Well, I accept I 'clash' with people but if I worried about it I'd get all cut up inside and depressed and have to visit an analyst or maybe even join a religion!

Right, if you get all tied up and bothered about every idiot's post or comment then there won't be anything left of you.
Visit an analyst? You mean a psychologist? If I ever get enough money, after buying all the DVDs I could need to bury myself 120 times over, I would love to spend some 200 bucks a 45 min "hour" session with them. It now seems to be that having a shrink is like a wanted commodity, like a nice car or 5 and a half bathrooms on each floor.
And I joined a religion mainly because I got tired of being an Atheist, and Scientology is best one, it's new, it's hated by all the other religions, it's in your face everywhere with modern metallic & glass churches, in LA anyway, and all the rich, beautiful and successful people go there :D It doesn't say you can't have money and that it's root of all evil, it doesn't tell you to love thy enemy and bless him as he spits on you, it doesn't tell you to kiss some imaginary guy's feet under opression and horror of hell where you'll be sent if you don't, etc, just helps you live your life to the fullest, for yourself. Pretty egoistical in places, but suits many very well. :o BTW, it's been founded by a sci-fi author L. Ron Hubbard, Battlefield Earth is one of his books, hehe. Travolta and wife Kelly preston are members as well as many others.
Tsk tsk, what am I doing, its 8 am, when am I gona sleep

Off to bed so I can talk about you! :D
>L. Ron Hubbard
Yes I know all about him, thank you.
I've nothing against Scientology and yes it is 'new' and that's why it's so attractive.
Whatever pumps your nads.
