I see there are 2 different versions of this machine. Can either or both play home made vcds and svcds, burnt onto cdrs or cdrws.
Thanks for any info :D

Surely someone must know the answer I desire :D
The Wharfedale based one should play VCDs(the hackable Rowa). But they could have installed a DVD drive that won't read CDRs.
Sorry that i can't really help, but why would you want to know anyway. The Rowa's have been generally slated as being very poor (the one with Pioneer internals does not produce Pioneer quality pictures).
Surely the Cyberhome or Acoustic Solutions players are better buys ;) They definately are hackable and play CDR,VCD,CDRW and MP3.

Thanks Simes, I only asked for a friend who's bought his lad one for xmas. I'm quite happy with my Pioneer and Optim players.
I still need a recommendation though for a player £100-£200 which plays VCD cdrs, multiregion and Macrovision free, if you can point me in the right direction. This is for another m8.
