Hows the show and is star trek still the best?
Getting discussed quite a bit in the general forum over the last couple of weeks.
I'm a long-time fan of Trek but I can't say that Trek's been "the best" for quite a few years now. The makers have a lot to learn about the long-term development of storylines. Having said that, what I've seen of Enterprise is shaping up well and I think will be quite watchable.

Pants.
TV for Mongos :D
No doubt I will give it a watch, I gave up on Voyager though so it needs to be better than that!

Is that the show with 'William Shatner's Wig'?:D
It's nothing special, but watchable. All the storylines have been covered in every series, with minor differences.

Im a life long star trek fan!!! I cant wait to see Enterprise and for the DVD releases of all the series. Which leaves me with only 1 more thing to say;
"May the force be with you"
I like Trek too, and thought long term story development was great in DS9 even though no one else seemed to lke it...

Deep Space 9 was soooo good it hurt. Because it deviated from the tried and tested Classic/TNG (and later Voyager) planet/species-of-the-week formula it got ignored by too many. I'm really looking forward to Enterprise, but I fear it won't match the mighty DS9.
Plus, it won't have Garak or Miles O'Brien in it. :(
You have to admit though that the last ever episode of DS9 really sucked almost ruining years of build up plot!
Yeah, DS9 is my favourite TV series ever - didn't want to sound too mad abouyt it just now cos I know how most trekkies feel. Its like - well the situation isn't the same at the beginning of every week, I'm all confused.
I have to admit though what you leave behind (the last one) wasn't as good as it could have been.

Have to agree; terrible, terrible ending. Almost as if they got bored with it. Real shame. I was warming to Voyager , but I think they got bored with that too...

So many films, so little time...
I didn't even know DS9 had finished! Can someone tell me what happened in the last episode? Don't forget the spoiler tags!

Regardless of how much money is pumped into the various incarnations of Trek, the writing will never parallel the quality of J Michael Straczynski's Babylon 5, a SF tv series for those who like storytelling in the maner of literary greats Asimov, Clarke and Niven.
"JMS is the science fiction equivalent of J R R Tolkien, with Babylon 5 being the finest television sci-fi epic bar none." - Stephen Hawking, The Independant on Sunday, 2001.
Just watched Ep5 of Enterprise, and it was the best one yet! Funny episode. It's improving for sure as it's more laid back than when they have to stick rigorously to protocols as in Voyager etc.....
(Wording this so it doesn't give anything away - if you've seen the episode, you'll know what I mean)
One thing though. They seem to be introducing one known thing every week, with this episode's thing being far too early in Starfleet history?

Rick Berman doesn't give a rats ass about original series/movies continuity in any way, something that, unless they have been living on the moon for the past 10 years, most fans are aware of. Sit back and watch as Berman and Braga trample over everything that Roddenberry created decades before...
HighlanderTM, a original Star Trek crew fan out...
