anyone know any official details of this, supposedly coming out Feb 9th.. all i can find (not looked too hard) according to Blackstar is that it is all 4 series.

if true, and if it is coming out on that date (somehow doubt it) then that price would surely put this thread in the Bargain Forum. And its Amazon, so you'll know they will honour it ;)

and anyone know why Still Game is so expensive? notably Series 2..
Not seen any of it before, but I watched the Date episode on Saturday and laughed so much it seriously hurt, reckon it's worth splashing out on both series and the Live DVD? :dork:

Buy the series by all means but dont bother with the live show, its not as funny as the series (it relies on them swearing a lot for humour).

I think"Chewing" has gone downhill over the years expect for Ronald Villieres (sp),I watched my first "Still game" episode yesterday and thought it was very funny, especially when the minging sister was around!

I think all their creative writings have been diverted from CTF to Still Game in past 2 years.

Quality of scripts for the two have been night and day.

Not seen live CTF but the live 'Still Game' is a hoot. It actually inspired the whole series. In fact I would go so far as to say that it is the best thing they have ever done.

I'd like to know what I've missed!

The last one I saw was the Hogmany special last year.

Well I was in Belfast today getting a dvd (tried to find Still Game but not one single dvd shop had it instock! ) and asked around about the Chewin The Fat Collection.

Looks like it isn't a misprice and the 4 series are being reissued in a cheaper boxset on February 9th. The street RRP for the set is £19.99 so £14.99 would be correct for an internet price :)

From memory..........

4 series of Chewing the Fat on DVD
1 live Chewing the Fat on DVD
2002 Chewing the Fat Hogmany special (given away free on DVD in an issue of the sun. It had a few extras as well. Not bad for nothing)
2003 Chewing the Fat Hogmany special (only shown on TV so far)

1 live Still Game on DVD
2 series of Still Game on DVD

There may be another Hogmany or Christmas special thats only been on TV but as far as I know everything they've done is out on DVD now (with the exception of the 2003 hogmany special).

For the new Still Game fans out there it's worth watching the Chewing the Fat series for the Jack and Victor sketches as most of them are excellent.

There were Hogmanay specials in 2000 and 2001 also I think.

What have the 2 eps post-Series 4 been like? Is Karen Dunbar in them?

It may be the 2001 special thats on the sun DVD then (I can't remember which)

Karen Dunbar has been in all 4 series of Chewing the Fat unfortunately.

Was in my local Fopp today and they had volumes 1 to 4 of CTF for a fiver each.

Great series, though the last one (when they went nationwide) was dreadful - gone were the funniest characters (lighthouse men and the smoking family).

Love the Still Game, seen the 2 eps on BBC so far and they've had me in stitches.

Think I'll invest in the DVD.

For a Londoner with little idea, what's Chewing the Fat like? Is it similar sort of humour?

thanks guys for the info :)

price is still £15 on amazon, and some details have been added, so looks like its going to happen, not a bad price in all!! just wish the Still Game discs were cheaper!

Bungle, like you only seen very little of Still Game, but saw one or two eps of Chewin The Fat.. and found it hilarious, very good sketch show which was suprised only did the regional rounds, and not proper primetime. I think at this price you can't go wrong.

I haven't seen a single episode of Chewin The Fat but I can tell just from the official website that its my type of comedy as it had me laughing out loud many times. So shall be buying the boxset forthwith! :D

Ordered Still Game series 1 today so looking forward to getting that shortly.

I just wish though that 2 comedy series which I really like, Rab C Nesbitt and Give My Head Peace would be released on dvd :(

Havn't seen Chewin' the fat for a long time, will be buying it at this price.

I remember the funniest sketches were the ones with the mother and son in the supermarket, the woman at the till asks why she's buying so many tissues to which she replies "there for my son, he's just started masturbating"
