View Full Version : Alan Partridge Quality
Has anybody found the "I'm Alan Partridge" DVD to be a bit blocky on the darker scenes such as in the car in episode 1.
I am playing on a Wharfedale M5 and none of my other DVDs are like this. Somebody I know sugegsted it was down to the BBC being skinflints and not paying for quality transfers.
I am a bit new to DVD so excuse my ignorance.
Mark.

Some of the reviews I've seen mention the blockiness on the dark scenes. It's the BBCs fault, cos they couldn't care less about treating a show with the respect it deserves.

Can't say i noticed when i watched it last week.....just been to check the scene you mentioned (Episode 1, Chapter 5) and was amazed at the amount of grain present on that scene  it was just like watching it's vhs counter part, believe me i just checked! I must've missed it the first time around as i watched that episode around 8am the morning it arrived with my wake-me-up coffee.
