I was just having a look about on ebay, when I seen this (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1476520778).

The 400 Blows Criterion Collection, with no bids, and a buy it now option of 20 quid!!!

Now, either this guy has put on the wrong price by mistake, or would it be possible that this is a boot leg? I was gonna buy it anyway, out of curiosity if nothing else, but I refreshed the page a few mins later, and someone had bought it! Grrrrr.

Anyhoo, what do you Criterion followers think? Is there anyone that knows if this was one of the Criterions that was doing the rounds as a bootleg?

Some one did buy it, was it you? :)

Nope!

It seems to suspect to me, 20 quid for a disk that goes for 150 quid upwards. I was gonna buy it though anyway, but by the time I decided that, I refreshed the page and someone had jumped in ahead of me.

Seemingly on his feebdack file (very good +78, no negatives) he has never sold before - so I think he didn't know what he was sitting on...

Dammit CraigKore you should have been faster !!!!!

The good samaritan thing to do would be drop him an email telling how much 400 Blows is actually worth. He could then back out of the sale. I know it's against the rules but it would be worth one black mark against his name for the extra cash he'd end up with.

All the above is assuming it's a genuine disc

I know! :(

I hope that it is a bootleg now, to just ease my pain, if nothing else! :D

And Greg, I was thinking of doing that, ;) but I reckon it would be unfair to whoever the lucky bast is that bought it, if it was a genuine copy.

It's a revers of the old saying "Let The Buyer Beware"

This is exactly the reason I do my damndest to find a rough estimationthe value of an item before flogging it on Ebay and I would never use the Buy Now option.

I once had an old book of Genesis Lyrics that I'd picked up for £3 in the 80s. I was going to take it down the charity shop but did some hunting and found that a hardback version was going for about £40. Mine was a large edition softback but I thought I'd lob it on with a start price of £10. I was stunned when a bidding war pushed it up to £160:eek:

Whoops! A slight bargain missed there I think.

I would recommend looking to pick up Dead Ringers now as it's already looking slightly tricky to find it in stock.

Tristan

The same bloke sold a Criterion Dead Ringers on Saturday for £10 !!!!!!

And seeing that he has about 40 other DVD's (no other rare ones !) on at the moment - all with a buy-it-now option. I think he really hasn't got a clue what he's sitting on
