Some old bands who have been big in the far East but not so popular here:

Silver Sun
Shed Seven
Echobelly
Manic St Preachers were huge over there before they went mainstream here

Think they've all split now though (apart from the Manics)..

Silver Sun had split, but are back again AFAIK, played a couple of shows in London recently.

Breaking News!

Ordinary Boys storm to number one in Japan with their rip roaring smash hit of an album 'Over The Counter Culture' taking over from equally amazing Keane from the top. Groovy!

Yes. Counting Sheep it was called.

I saw them loads supporting Voice Of The Beehive and they were very good live. Lovely chappies too :)

The first Oasis album "Definitely Maybe" has it's indie parts. It also doubles up as a damn fine rock and roll debut too.

You can't get more recent than The Ordinary Boys. As jmdomain says they have just gone to No1 in Japan and No12 over here.

Ooh Stick You

Ooh stick you
Your mama too
And your daddy

Ooh stick you
Your mama too
And your daddy

Ooh stick you
Your mama too
And your daddy

Ooh stick you
Your mama too
And your daddy

Ooh stick you
Your mama too
And your daddy

Ooh stick you
Ooh stick you!

Your mama, your daddy
Your greasy, greasy grandmammy
You got a hole in your panty
Got a big behind like Frankenstein
Going beep-beep-beep down Sesame Street
Toot-toot-toot wear army boots
In your ear with a can of beer
Up your butt with a coconut
OOOHHHH!

Ooh stick you
Your mama too
And your daddy

Ooh stick you
Your mama too
And your daddy

Ooh stick you
Your mama too
And your daddy

Ooh stick you
Ooh stick you!

You go girl!
Eeeehhhhhhh!
Oooooohhhhh!
Aye!

Do you want me to tell you what I really think about you?

You got facial hair like a polar bear
You blow up like a toad and then explode
Your face looks mean like Halloween
You got big red eyes like cherry pies
You got the IQ of a digeridoo
You look insane and got no brain
You got a big fat belly like a bowl full of jelly
Your fat mum Milly looks like Free Willy

Ooh stick you
Your mama too
And your daddy

Ooh stick you
Your mama too
And your daddy

Ooh stick you
Your mama too
And your daddy

Ooh stick you
Ooh stick you!

You go girl!
Ride 'em cowboy!
Yee-ha!
Giddy up horsey!
Ride 'em cowboy!
Pugh! Pugh! Pugh!
It’s like a horror movie isn't it?
Oohh!
Ride 'em cowboy!
Ooh Ooh Eee!
Ride 'em cowboy!

Do you wanna know what
I really think about you?

You're a little kid that looks like a squid- oh no!
You've got a bad perm like a can of worms- oh no!
Cheeks like a balloon ; face like a baboon- oh no!
Everybody knows you eat the nails from your toes &
You rub 'em in dirt and eat them for dessert!

Whatever!

Ooh stick you
Your mama too
And your daddy

Ooh stick you
Your mama too
And your daddy

Ooh stick you
Your mama too
And your daddy

Ooh stick you
Ooh stick you!

You got ears on your face like spock in space!
You got teeth in your head like Mr Ed!
Everybody knows you put fleas in cheese,
Mix them with glue and use it like shampoo!

What?

Ping-pong why am I saying ping-pong?
Ping-pong Ping-pong Ping-pong!
Whatever whatever whatever!

Ooh stick you
Your mama too
And your daddy

Ooh stick you
Your mama too
And your daddy

Ooh stick you
Your mama too
And your daddy

Ooh stick you

Daphne and Celeste Becoming Famous:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Daphne and Celeste started out by bumping into each other adverts. When they did alot of adverts they started to become friends also then in 1999 they started a band called Daphne and Celeste. Their first hit Ooh Stick You..... was released on the 20th of September 1999. Since then they had no other songs to sing so they re-released Ooh Stick You..... but changed the name to OOH STICK YOU! but it was still the same song then. Ooh Stick You! re-released on the 24th of January 2000 and reached the charts at number 8. The one DJ from UK called DJ Fox said that the song would only last a week, but he was wrong! The song stayed the charts from Febuary leading into the beginning of March it stayed in the charts for about 8 to 9 weeks.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Then Daphne and Celeste were on tour with Steps during May and June 2000. They also waited 4 months 1 week and 5 days until they released their second single called U.G.L.Y. U.G.L.Y. first reached the charts at number 18 and it's highest chart postion was 16. Following this single came their first album on the 26th of June 2000 the album was called We Didn't Say That! After about one month four weeks and 4 days came their third single called School's Out! This song was originally recorded by Alice Cooper during the seventies. Daphne and Celeste's version of School's Out! had diffrent lyrics to Alice Cooper's version. The CD Single of School's Out! was Daphne and Celeste's first single that had a B Side song called The Camp Song. When people say B Side they mean a song that is not on the album. And The Camp Song wasn't on We Didn't Say That! Daphne and Celeste have just finished doing concerts at Leeds Festival, Reading Festival and First Feet Concert. Plus they have been on a Televison programme called Never Mind the Buzzardcocks. Daphne and Celeste Are Also Working On An Album And More To Come So Good Luck To Daphne and Celeste For The Future Ahead!
