I have read that this movie has edge enhancements at the podrace of the engines and the lift scene but i see no ghosting or softness. The picture scenes seems fine to me. I have a toshiba 100e region 2 and a sony 21" 4:3tv .

The problem seems to be more apparent the bigger one's screen is - I haven't seen this DVD, but it's undoubtedly true that artefacting and edge enhancement is far more noticeable on my 43" telly than it is on my girlfriend's 28" one.
And, no, it's not true that every picture will show up faults at that size - A Knight's Tale, for instance, looked pretty much perfect.

It's not edge enhancement, watch the documentaries as one og them mention it. It's to do with the much of the movie being filmed in front of blue screens and lack of light, so artificial light was added at the CGI stage.

Ahem, Cobblers.
If you look at the Tv Spots vs the Trailers vs the film you'll see that the Edge Enhancement is different dependent on the format.
Take a look at my review which gives examples:

When you've read that pop over to Bjoern's Site:

That should provide you with background.
Regards Jenz.
Or check out the Deleted Scenes on disk 2, which have no edge enhancement and indeed a lovely grade A transfer.
Already being discussed here. (http://www.thedvdforums.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=26710)
