Take a look here:

http://www.thebigpicturedvd.com/bignews.shtml

It got a video restoration by the same company responsible for North By Northwest, Citizen Kane and Snow White.

Can't wait to get this.

Mmmmm...nice. Anyone au fait with the differences (if any) betwixt the R1 & R2? I have the R2 ordered at Play for the keen price of £9.99 but would like to know if it’s going to suffer in comparison to the R1.

I suspect packaging will be the only difference. How on earth did you get it for £9.99; it's at the dizzy heights of £14.99 now.

That’s the price they had it at for ages and it looks like they’ll honour it.

I heard the R1 was two discs though that]s the main reason I was asking about differences.

Good point - ABSound say R1 is 2 discs, but Play (or ezydvd for R4) don't say how many.

The R4 artwork on ezydvd is the same as R1, but Play show something, er, quite different. Could be a flipper, like Ben Hur , though with Warner's saything they'll push the boat out (at least for R1) I doubt it.

???

As for Ezy, they often show a R1 cover for R4 because it's available earlier. They sometimes don't update the image to the correct local cover until the day of release, so this one could go either way...

And I still want to know anything people have read about differences between the R1 and the R4 in terms of features. Last time someone posted a list it looked pretty right, but...?

Oops; meant to say Play or ezy 'don't' show how many. However, familyboxoffice say the R4 is one disc...but Warners own website confirm the R1 is "Two Discs Featuring Nearly 6 Hours of Program Content."
